Yusuke Kinoshita begins as the teenage protagonist of the first installment, compelled by his father, Yasuo Kinoshita, owner of the Pia Carrot restaurant chain, to work at the family business over summer due to poor grades. In this initial role, he interacts with staff including his childhood friend Shouko Inaba, cousin Kiyomi Kitagawa, and younger sister Rumi Kinoshita.

Four years later, in subsequent installments, Yusuke transitions from part-time work to management, becoming chief of the "2nd" restaurant location. He oversees new staff, such as protagonist Kouji Maeda, handling day-to-day restaurant responsibilities. His duties expand further when he temporarily assumes the chief position at the "3rd" location during events related to "2.2".

By the third main installment, set one year after the second, Yusuke is married to former colleague Satomi Morihara, now Satomi Kinoshita, who serves as manager of the "1st" location. Yusuke himself appears in supporting roles, reflecting his progression from a teenage employee to an established family figure within the business. His sister Rumi remains part of the restaurant staff across multiple entries. As an adult, Yusuke sports a ponytail.
