Fupu emerges as a wind spirit from the Fountain of Sky, among the seven fountains tied to the World Tree that nourishes life across realms. Alongside the moon spirit Moop, she faced exile when Dark Fall's Ms. Shitataare shattered their fountain. During their flight, Kiryuu Michiru and Kaoru intervened to hold back a collapsing tree, enabling their escape and forging lasting bonds—Fupu with Kaoru, Moop with Michiru.

Her form manifests as a light pink-white entity with dark purple eyes. Curled ears frame a lilac heart, while a blue orb caps her tail and a pink swirl graces her forehead. Legless and ethereal, she drifts in a spirit-like state. Fupu balances shyness with playful mischief, often straying with Moop to unintentionally complicate allies' efforts. She punctuates every sentence with "-pupu".

Debuting alongside Moop in episode 24, Fupu initially observed protagonists Saki and Mai from hiding before joining them in the Land of Greenery. She and Moop power the Pretty Cures' enhanced abilities, channeling energy through the Splash Commune to forge the Spiral Ring Set for attacks like Spiral Heart Splash. When the villain Goyan wounded the fairy Choppy, Fupu and Moop healed her directly with their wind and lunar forces. This act evolved the Mix Commune into the Crystal Commune, unlocking new Cure forms: Cure Bright (lunar energy) and Cure Windy (wind energy). Fupu specifically fuels Mai’s transformation into Cure Windy.

After Pretty Cure’s victory restored both the Land of Greenery and the Land of Fountains, Fupu settled permanently alongside Mai, Saki, Michiru, and Kaoru—echoing the enduring alliance born from their rescue.

Her name derives from the Japanese "fuu" (風), meaning wind, aligning with her elemental essence and role empowering Cure Windy.
