Description
Loveriel is an angel from heaven who first appears in the original Jiburiru: The Devil Angel and returns in Jiburiru: Second Coming. She is sent to Earth to counter the demon Asmodeus and the forces of hell. When she encounters the human couple Naoto Jinno and Rika Manabe during a demon attack, she rescues them but is severely injured in the battle, losing much of her power. To continue the fight, she explains the ongoing war between angels and devils and recruits Rika to become a Devil Angel, transforming her into Jiburiru using a halo. In Second Coming, after Rika is kidnapped and corrupted by the demon Rococo, Loveriel reappears and instructs Naoto that the only way to create a new Devil Angel strong enough to save Rika is for him to generate Amore through intimacy with his stepsister Hikari, who then becomes Jiburiru Aries.
Loveriel has a childlike appearance, standing about 1.29 meters tall with pink hair and violet eyes. Her personality is earnest but somewhat naive, and she often finds herself out of her element on Earth. After recovering her strength, she tends to take on a more comedic role, interacting with the main characters in a lighthearted manner, though she remains dedicated to her mission. Her primary motivation is to protect the world from demonic threats and to maintain the balance between heaven and hell. However, she is not a frontline combatant; instead, she acts as a catalyst and guide, empowering ordinary humans to become Devil Angels who can wield the magical energy called Amore. As the story progresses, her direct involvement diminishes, and she steps into the background, leaving the actual fighting to the recruited Devil Angels. Her notable abilities include the power to bestow angelic transformations, knowledge of the celestial conflict, and the capacity to channel Amore, but her own physical combat capabilities are limited once she expends her initial power.
