Description
Tigrotto, also known as Tiny or Tora-chan, is a character who appears exclusively in the anime film Panda! Go, Panda!: The Rainy-Day Circus. This baby tiger cub is introduced when it escapes from a visiting circus and seeks refuge in the home of the young girl Mimiko. It is discovered by the baby panda, Panny, while eating his food, which leads to an initial moment of alarm that quickly passes as the household welcomes the cub.

In terms of personality, Tigrotto embodies childlike curiosity and a strong sense of playfulness. Driven by a powerful maternal instinct, the cub is motivated above all else to find its mother. This need to reunite with its parent is a primary driver of the plot, causing Tigrotto to flee back to the circus and inadvertently draw Panny along, which forces Mimiko and the other pandas to give chase. Despite the tension that arises when Panny crashes into the mother tiger's cage, Mimiko is able to defuse the situation by safely returning Tigrotto to its mother, establishing a peaceful understanding between the two families.

Tigrotto plays a crucial role in the story's second half. When a severe storm floods the valley, the cub sends a message in a bottle that alerts Mimiko and her family to the danger facing the circus train. During the subsequent animal rescue, Tigrotto's playful antics with Panny accidentally set the train in motion, leading to a near-disaster before it is finally stopped. The cub demonstrates notable physical abilities, including agility and a peculiar talent for balancing upright on its tail when excited, a habit that mirrors Mimiko's own tendency to perform handstands. Tigrotto also reveals a familiarity with circus routines, performing a ball-balancing act in the ring. The character shares a particularly strong bond with Panny, engaging in playful activities like ball-balancing that the baby panda tries to copy.
