Description
Lieutenant Colonel Clive Dias commands defense operations for critical archaeological sites within the Republic Forces, representing the "Second Generation" demographic. He coordinates military actions and interacts with the main protagonist group primarily through his subordinate, Jo Aysel. While loyal to the Republic, he cultivates a cooperative relationship with Imperial pilot Christopher Giller, considering their bond fated. Both his parents live aboard the Republic capital ship New Hope, where Dias introduces them to others.
His initial Zoid, the Triceradogos Kai, met destruction during the pivotal Mosaic City battle, bisected by Douglas Aldridge's Genospino while saving Leo Conrad's Beast Liger. Following this loss, Colonel Leonam entrusted Dias with the Wild Liger Kai, a medium-sized lion-type Zoid Leonam previously piloted. This Zoid features distinctive blue and blue-gray coloring with Republic insignia and inherited the AZ Anti-Aircraft Guns from the Triceradogos. Its armament includes a 9-Barreled A-Z Cannon, two A-Z Anti-Aircraft Guns, and two A-Z 3-Shot Charge Missiles.
Dias' piloting skills evolve markedly across his engagements. Early defeats against Aldridge erode his confidence, but he hones his skills supporting Leo's group and facing Empire forces directly. In the side story *Zoids Wild Biographies: Clive Dias*, his first major battle piloting the Wild Liger Kai pits him against Aldridge's Fangtiger. Initially doubting his synergy with the new Zoid, Dias successfully executes high-speed artillery tactics and demonstrates strategic acumen during the duel. Later, he participates in key battles against the Zero Grizis, first wielding the Gravity Cannon exclusive to Liger-types and then piloting the Omega Rex after depleting the cannon's ammunition.
His character development centers on resilience and leadership. The loss of the Triceradogos fuels a personal vendetta against Aldridge, yet his focus remains steadfastly on protecting Republic interests and allies. His deepening relationship with the Wild Liger Kai, forged through shared combat, reflects the theme of mutual trust between pilot and Zoid.
