Description
Wen Yong Fa, a 12-year-old Lycan-raised martial artist of Chinese descent, first emerges as a brash, physically assertive member of the Shadow Alliance alongside his younger brother, Li Yong Fa. Standing 142 cm tall with a wiry 39 kg frame, his loud, cocky demeanor masks fierce loyalty to those he protects. Skilled in combat and emotional manipulation, Wen pressures Li into morally gray actions during their early schemes, such as orchestrating deceptive victories against Yamato Delgado and Bull on Delta Rock.
His allegiance to the Shadow Alliance fractures during a pivotal match against Enjyu, where he abandons cheating tactics for fairness, severing ties with the group. This choice aligns him with Yamato’s allies, though his resistance to hierarchical authority persists. Central to Wen’s arc is his codependent bond with Li, tested when Li joins the Neo Shadow Alliance under Enjyu’s influence. A climactic battle against a brainwashed Li forces Wen to confront their dynamic, ultimately freeing his brother from Marda B.’s control and reshaping their relationship into one of mutual respect.
Later, Wen wields upgraded B-Daman like King Bakuso, strategically partnering with Li’s King Rekuso to form King Bakurekuso against threats like Shegen. Though mentoring Sly’s trainees showcases his growth, occasional lapses in focus lead to defeats, such as against Ralf. Key battles—victories over Zorna and Shegen, losses to Enjyu and Cain McDonnell—underscore his tactical adaptability.
Marked by dark blue B-DaBalls, blood type O, and a May 7 birthday, Wen’s journey from antagonist to ally mirrors creator Eiji Inuki’s themes of sibling rivalry. His evolution culminates in aiding the final clash against Marda B. to save the B-DaWorld, balancing martial prowess with hard-won integrity and the nuanced tensions of brotherhood.
