Description
Yohko Yamamoto, a 1999 AD high school student, was recruited by engineer Curtis Lawson from the future. Lawson sought individuals with superior reflexes, a trait diminished in 2999 AD, and found Yohko ideal due to her exceptional skill in space flight simulation video games, leading her to pilot advanced spacecraft for TERRA.

Her active, sporty nature comes with a cocky edge. Gaming, especially space combat simulations, is her central passion, reflected in her starship, the Super Strike TA-29, which requires inserting a 100-yen coin into an arcade-like slot to activate. She frequently consumes Pocky snacks.

An accident erased her memory, returning her to 1999 AD believing herself an ordinary student. Flashbacks of space battles occurred until Momiji Kagariya confronted her at school. Thrust back into battle, she regained her full memories while piloting the TA-29, embracing her identity.

To form TERRA's required four-pilot team, she recruited childhood friend Ayano Elizabeth Hakuhouin, leveraging their deep bond and trust. She later drafted Madoka Midou after Madoka discovered their activities. Yohko values Ayano's abilities highly, believing Ayano could surpass her.

Piloting the Super Strike TA-29 armed with the Everblack Cannon, her combat style involves the phrase: "Super Strike TA-29, Yamamoto Yohko, Get ready! Go!"

Her team achieved a significant winning streak until defeat against the Red Snappers, NESS's elite team, deeply demoralizing her. She resumed combat only after Ayano threatened to defect to NESS, leading to a victorious rematch.

She developed a rivalry with Red Snappers pilot Rouge, extending beyond battles to romantic competition over NESS commander Fluger. This evolved into mutual respect and friendship after a duel interrupted by a malfunctioning space station. Yohko later challenged Rouge to a race, securing an easy win that cemented their relationship.

She confronted Yohsuke Yamamoto, a female clone created by antagonist Zenga using the Old Timer's Inheritance and raised as male. Yohko engaged Yohsuke in a one-on-one starship battle, strategically letting Yohsuke exhaust his ship's resources to secure victory. This defeat caused the Old Timer's Inheritance to leave Yohsuke's body, triggering a physical transformation into a male.

When the Old Timer's Inheritance possessed Ayano, forcing her to help Zenga reboot the universe, Ayano pleaded for Yohko to kill her. Yohko refused this sacrifice, defeating Ayano in combat without killing her and successfully separating the Inheritance.

She faced Sara Dread, a manifestation of Lawson's past associate transformed into an Eldritch Abomination piloting a regenerative TA-21 ship. Despite overwhelming fear, Yohko defeated this entity. Later, she confronted the awakened planet Sakura Taurus, which had absorbed Sara Dread and the TA-21, becoming a Genius Loci manifesting cherry blossom trees from Sara's memories.

Her journey shows development from a skilled gamer exploiting her reflexes to a dedicated protector confronting cosmic threats. She evolved from seeking personal victory to valuing teamwork, confronting personal fears, and rejecting sacrificial solutions to protect her friends and the universe from entities like the Old Timer's Inheritance.
