Description
Geronimo Junior, designated Cyborg 005, originated as a Native American man from the southwestern United States. Persistent racial discrimination denied him stable employment, leading him to refuse demeaning work that perpetuated stereotypes. Black Ghost agents exploited his desperation with a fraudulent job offer, facilitating his abduction.

Captured by Black Ghost, he underwent extensive cybernetic modification as part of their 00-Cyborg project. His enhancements specifically amplified his innate physical strength and endurance, following a revised philosophy favoring augmentation over entirely new capabilities. This resulted in near-indestructible armored skin and significantly augmented musculature, establishing him as the physically strongest cyborg on the team. In certain continuities, like the 2001 anime, he belonged to a later group abducted alongside Cyborgs 006, 007, and 008. They were cryogenically frozen for decades after the initial prototypes until technology allowed safer completion of their modifications.

His transformation granted him a towering, muscular stature, often described as the largest among the 00-Cyborgs. Recognizable features frequently include distinct red tribal markings on his face. He typically wears the team's red military-style uniform, though designs vary; the "Cyborg 009 vs. Devilman" OVA depicted a more detailed uniform with tactical elements like elbow and knee pads.

Personality-wise, he remains consistently reserved and peaceful, embodying a quiet, stoic demeanor that contrasts with his formidable combat presence, where he becomes grimly determined. His Native American heritage fosters a deep reverence for nature and life. This connection often manifests as an implied or explicit sixth sense, enabling him to perceive spiritual disturbances or imbalances in the natural world, highlighted in adaptations like "Cyborg 009: The Cyborg Soldier" and the "Devilman" OVA. He rarely initiates conflict but fights resolutely when necessary, viewing his actions as protecting life and balance.

His primary abilities stem from his cybernetic enhancements: superhuman strength and extreme durability. He can effortlessly lift and throw massive objects like boulders, while his armored skin provides high resistance to physical and energy attacks. While lacking overt weaponry, certain continuities suggest potentially devastating hidden armaments, including an unconfirmed nuclear device within his abdomen. During the manga arc "Conclusion: GOD'S WAR", his latent psychic potential was unlocked by Cyborg 001 (Ivan Whisky), further amplifying his physical power beyond its previous mechanical limits.

Within the 00-Cyborg team, he serves as the primary physical powerhouse, relied upon for brute force and resilience tasks. Despite his quiet nature, he is a dedicated and loyal teammate. His spiritual sensitivity occasionally provides the team early warnings of supernatural or unnatural threats, as seen when he sensed the demonic presence before the conflict in "Cyborg 009 vs. Devilman".

Background details show minor variations. The original manga and some adaptations depict him as an impoverished pig farmer driven to attempt suicide by hanging before Black Ghost intervened. Other versions, like the 2001 anime, present him as a freelance construction worker who lost his livelihood after a restaurant fire before being lured by the false job offer. His chronological age also varies; cryogenic freezing in the 2001 timeline means he is physically younger than his actual years, while other continuities lack this element.
