Lynn Kaifun, son of Minsharou restaurant owners Lynn Shaochin and Lynn Feichun in Macross City, originally lived in Yokohama. He vehemently opposed his cousin Lynn Minmay's move to South Ataria Island, seeing the SDF-1 Macross as a symbol of the Unification Wars. When Space War I erupted, Kaifun fled home, traveling widely before reuniting with Minmay in Yokohama in November 2009. He then joined her aboard the SDF-1 Macross, where his parents also lived.
Kaifun held uncompromising pacifist convictions, consistently antagonizing military institutions and personnel. He refused officer Misa Hayase's handkerchief and denounced military defense strategies even during active threats to civilians, frequently using mass media to broadcast anti-war messages that framed all soldiers as morally equivalent. Professionally, he worked as an actor, martial artist, and music manager. His lead role in the film *Shao Pai Long* featured special effects enhancing his martial arts, leading Zentradi observers to mistake him for an actual formidable warrior. Managing Minmay's career, he complicated their relationship by publicly declaring romantic involvement with his cousin, stunning listeners and contributing to Hikaru Ichijyo's disillusionment with Minmay.
After Space War I, Kaifun's life unraveled. He descended into alcoholism and abusive behavior, driving away allies including Minmay, leading to their separation. Adrift, he later had rumored involvement with a knock-off Fire Bomber band. Ultimately, he faded from public view, with no further documented appearances.
