Description
Ayanojyo Aburatsubo holds the position of vice-president in Kitanohashi High School's Magic Club. As a third-year student, he ranks among the club's most powerful magic users, his reliable and potent abilities forming a cornerstone of the club's success alongside president Takeo Takakura.

Aburatsubo directs his romantic interest exclusively toward Takeo Takakura. He openly and persistently flirts with Takeo, fully aware his feelings are unrequited. Despite Takeo's discomfort, Aburatsubo continues his advances, accepting the lack of reciprocity throughout the series, with no romantic interest shown in others.

Beyond magic, Aburatsubo excels in multiple disciplines. He actively participates in various clubs, including tennis and drama, and enjoys widespread student popularity. His athleticism and attractive appearance earn him a dedicated female fan club, solidifying his status as a school idol and "The Ace" within his group.

Aburatsubo exhibits contrasting behavior depending on context. Around Takeo, he displays overtly camp mannerisms, engaging in playful flirtation with little regard for personal boundaries. With others, particularly his admirers, he adopts a composed, princely demeanor, highlighting the specific nature of his affection for Takeo.

His family background includes a strained relationship with his overbearing and excessively doting mother, Akiko. Her behavior, especially during school visits, causes him significant embarrassment, though underlying affection for her is confirmed.

When Nanaka Nakatomi develops romantic feelings and confesses to him, Aburatsubo gently but firmly rejects her, explicitly citing his preexisting feelings for Takeo as the reason. While some ambiguity exists toward the series' conclusion regarding their dynamic, no definitive romantic resolution occurs between them.

Beneath his accomplished exterior, Aburatsubo occasionally reveals vulnerability. He privately acknowledges that his ease with various skills sometimes diminishes his enjoyment due to a lack of challenge.
