Description
Haqua Estoc originates from the ice continent of Xamuler, arriving in Atlantia to trade never-melting ice. He presents as a petite male with platinum-blond hair styled with short, choppy sides and a three-parted fringe, pale blue eyes, and light peach skin. His standard attire includes an azure and white robe with golden trim, black sleeves featuring golden lining, a black collar, brown boots, a brown scarf, and a brown buckled belt. He notoriously wears large, round magenta eyeglasses, later revealed as a special seal concealing his identity as a Sword Eyes of Light.
Initially cool, calm, and pessimistic, he expresses skepticism about changing the world. This outlook shifts after interactions with Tsurugi Tatewaki and fellow Sword Eyes of Light members. As successor to Vargas Randall, the previous white Sword Eyes, he inherits the title and responsibilities. His hidden status as a Sword Eyes is facilitated by the sealing glasses.
Key developments see him providing refuge for the Sword Eyes of Light in Atlantia while discouraging opposition against King Yaiba. Witnessing their successful rescue of Bringer draws him deeper into their cause. During a mission to Xamuler to locate a Sword Brave, he initially refuses participation due to a traumatic ghost encounter in the castle where the Sword Brave is hidden. Suou Rakels persuades him to join, leading to the revelation of his Sword Eyes identity and lineage. Rebel steals his Sword Brave, recovered by Kizakura Kukuri battling on his behalf after he feigns illness; reclaiming it, he accepts his role more fully.
His combat abilities evolve significantly. He battles and defeats Gordy Dain to rescue Kizakura from ice entrapment using a golden kettle capable of melting Xamuler ice. Later, he battles for Kizakura’s freedom when the Sword Eyes are captured by Yaiba, implying personal affection through his motivation and subsequent jealousy when she offers sweets to Sora Ryuyo. Under Yaiba’s control, he and Sora are briefly manipulated into adversaries. Amarello Berge battles and frees him from this influence using powers granted by Grenada. He participates in cross-dressing with Gordy to infiltrate the palace for intelligence gathering on Garudos Randall. In the final conflict, he lends his Sacred Gaebolg to Tsurugi and aids in diverting Stingers from the arks.
In the manga continuity, he appears during Tsurugi’s battle against Brau, attempting unsuccessfully to sell Tsurugi a white deck while concealing his Sword Eyes status. Captured by Yaiba before the final battle, he is released afterward and becomes a royal purveyor at Yaiba’s behest.
His deck utilizes white charge mechanics, featuring spirits like Prod-Falcon, The Sacred Gaebolg, and The SpearLightMachineDeity Kugel-Horn, alongside braves such as The SkyLightSword Crown-Solar. Key magic cards include Regain, Ice Age Shield, and Perfect Repair. Documented battle outcomes include victories against Gordy and Brau, a loss to Amarello while under dark influence, and an unresolved battle against Yaiba.
Following the conflict’s resolution, he returns to commercial activities, resuming his business endeavors.
