Description
Daedalus hails from Synapse, an advanced realm whose inhabitants evolved parallel to humanity. As Synapse's leading scientist, she co-developed the Rule, a wish-granting system that initially granted wishes before plunging residents into existential despair and widespread suicide. To counter this ennui, she participated in recreating the universe and later engineered humanity alongside the first Angeloids for observation. Witnessing Synapse's envy of human dreaming capacity, she created dream-dome technology, projecting her consciousness into an artificial human body on Earth.

She assumed a dream existence as Tomoki's childhood friend Sohara Mitsuki, whose life ended prematurely by illness. Following this "death," her existence was erased from human memories, including Tomoki's. To ensure he wouldn't forget, she created a biological clone of her dream self—the Sohara active in the series—and dispatched it to Earth. As an ageless angelic being, she frequently visits Tomoki's dreams to deliver warnings or requests, materializing as a fleeting, melancholic figure who vanishes upon his waking, leaving him distressed.

She is the creator of all first-generation Angeloids—Ikaros, Nymph, Astraea, Harpies, and Chaos—whom she regards as daughters. She designed them with varying combat prowess, emotional range, and processing power, installing the critical Pandora system to enable growth beyond their initial programming limits. She maintains a protective relationship, intervening when they face threats, such as saving Sugata from Harpies and expressing outrage when Minos forcibly converts the angel Hiyori Kazane into an Angeloid.

Her appearance matches Sohara's, featuring long blue hair and white wings, often seated on a cloud-like mobility device due to implied frail health. She possesses high intelligence and specialized abilities, including dream manipulation, portal creation, and karate chops reminiscent of Sohara's. Covertly, she guides events to liberate Synapse's inhabitants from stagnation, culminating in the revelation that she is the original Sohara—a truth concealed until the final manga arc.

Her relationships are defined by maternal devotion to the Angeloids, antagonism toward her former research partner Minos (master of Synapse), and enduring affection for Tomoki stemming from their shared dream-life history. She strategically collaborates with Sugata during his Synapse investigations, confirming theories about memory alteration while withholding key truths about Hiyori. During Hiyori's movie events, Daedalus exhibits distress over her conversion but refrains from direct intervention, adhering to her observer role that operates through proxies and dreams.
