Movie
Description
Uncle Jam, also called Mr. Jam, created Anpanman and several other bread-based characters, serving as their primary caregiver. This kind, warm-hearted elderly figure possesses extensive knowledge and expertise in baking, mechanics, and general wisdom. His appearance features gray hair, fluffy eyebrows, a mustache, and rosy cheeks, typically dressed in a white chef's hat, shirt, pants, apron, and blue-gray shoes. Though he appears human, he is established as a fairy within the Anpanman world where humans do not exist.

The character Anpanman came to life when Uncle Jam baked his head after a "star of life" shooting star landed in his oven. He similarly created Melonpanna and possibly Currypanman, though the latter's origin is inconsistently documented. Uncle Jam raised Anpanman from infancy, fostering a father-son relationship marked by encouragement and mutual care. He also serves as a father figure to others like Melonpanna and Creampanda, supporting their growth. He lives and works at a bakery alongside his assistant, Batako. Though unrelated, their long-standing partnership creates a familial bond; their exact history remains unspecified, though one source suggests he may have known her since infancy.

His skills extend beyond baking to proficient invention and mechanics, constructing mecha like the Anpanman Mobile and repairing mechanical characters. He rides a motorcycle and possesses diverse, unspecified abilities. He maintains a library reflecting vast knowledge gained from extensive youthful travels.

Uncle Jam interacts supportively with most characters. He helps fellow heroes Shokupanman and Currypanman, though their creation is not consistently attributed to him. He encourages Rollpanna to join the bakery despite her evil heart, showing concern for her well-being. His pet dog, Cheese, accompanies him but shares a closer bond with Batako. During crises like Baikinman's schemes, Uncle Jam provides replacement heads for damaged bread heroes and repairs torn capes to restore flight. He consistently prioritizes others' safety and happiness.

In "Shabondama no Purun," Uncle Jam appears as a supporting character within the bakery community. His background and personality remain consistent across all media, with no significant evolution or additional origins provided.
