Description
Reona West, also known as Leona West, is a 14-year-old Canadian-Japanese idol and student at Paprika Private Academy, the younger twin sibling of Dorothy West. Within the transformative PriPara virtual world, Reona presents a slender, feminine avatar characterized by light pink short curly hair featuring a left-side braid, dark pink eyes, and a distinctive beauty mark beneath the left eye.

Initially defined by extreme shyness and reliance on Dorothy, Reona often mirrored Dorothy's actions or feelings, expressed through the recurring phrase "If Dorothy ○○, then I’ll ... too...". Across the series, Reona develops greater self-confidence and independence, becoming more outgoing while retaining a calming presence reflected in the catchphrase "(Tension) relax!". This demeanor enables Reona to soothe others, especially young children.

Relationships are central to Reona's growth. The exceptionally close bond with Dorothy includes frequently mediating between Dorothy and unitmate Sion Todo. Reona forms meaningful connections beyond the sibling relationship, notably with Sophy Hojo, sharing a similarity in initially struggling with self-reliance. Sophy's advice aids Reona's personal growth, leading to their exchange of Friend Tickets. Reona also works alongside Fuwari Midorikaze in the PriPara Nurses. Hibiki Shikyoin involves Reona in a movie rehearsal exploring motivations in Episode 74.

Reona's idol journey starts with a cameo in Episode 12 and formalizes in Episode 14 with the formation of Dressing Pafé alongside Dorothy and Sion Todo. Performing primarily in Fortune Party coords, Reona evolves through designs like Twin Gingham, Fortune Party L Cyalume, Dressing Pafé R Team Cyalume, and later Super Cyalume variants. Reona accumulates more solo segments in opening themes compared to unit center Sion. Significant milestones include achieving God Idol status with Dressing Pafé in Episode 189, relinquished by Episode 191.

Notable background elements include Reona's use of the gender-neutral pronoun "watashi" despite being male-assigned, confirmed in Episode 18. The Korean dub removed gender references and altered the school uniform tie. Reona shares a February 5th birthday, prefers strawberry parfait, and displays left-handedness. The name "Reona" derives from the Latin "leon" (lion) and the solfège scale, while "West" aligns thematically with directional surnames.
