Description
Kujou Hikari emerged from the fragmentation of the Queen of the Garden of Light during her battle against the Dark King, becoming the physical embodiment of the Queen's life force. This division also created twelve Heartiels carrying the Queen's will and Queen Chairect representing her heart. Stranded on Earth with amnesia, Hikari lived without memories of her origin, adopting a gentle and passive human existence. Discovered near a river, Fujita Akane took her in and presented her as a cousin. At Verone Academy, Hikari formed close friendships with Misumi Nagisa and Yukishiro Honoka, sensing an inexplicable bond with them, while working at Akane's Tako Cafe stall. Her demeanor radiated profound kindness and tranquility, rarely showing anger or frustration, though others sometimes worried this calm masked emotional suppression.
Her latent powers awakened during a Zakenna attack when the fairy Pollun recognized her connection to the Queen, transforming into the Touch Commune device. This allowed Hikari to become Shiny Luminous with the phrase "Luminous! Shining Stream!" Specializing in support, she wielded the Heartiel Baton for abilities like Heartiel Action to hinder foes and amplify Cure Black and Cure White. Later, the fairy Lulun granted her the Heartiel Brooch for defensive techniques like force fields. Her transformation incantation, "Shining life, Shiny Luminous! The light's heart and the light's will, for the sake of uniting all as one!", highlighted unity.
During the quest to gather the Heartiels and restore the Queen, Hikari deepened her bonds. She shielded Lulun during an amusement park assault, displaying fierce protectiveness toward both fairies. Friendships with classmates Tabata Nao and Kagayama Miu mirrored her ties to Nagisa and Honoka. A recurring mysterious boy was revealed as her brother, Kujou Hikaru. In the climax, Hikari sacrificed herself to resurrect the Queen, seemingly merging with her permanently, but later reemerged independently to live with Hikaru.
In Kibou no Chikara ~Otona Pretty Cure '23~, Shiny Luminous aided in sealing the Shadows, questioning the ethics of protection if innocents suffered.
