Description
Kujou Hikari emerges as the living fragment of the Queen of Light, one of three entities formed after the Queen’s clash with the Dark King fractured her essence—alongside the Heartiels (her will) and Queen Chairect (her heart). Stripped of memories and power, she awakens near a river as an amnesiac girl, adopting a human life. Enrolling at Verone Academy, she befriends Nagisa Misumi and Honoka Yukishiro while working incognito at Fujita Akane’s Tako Cafe, posing as Akane’s cousin.
In civilian guise, she wears long braided blonde hair draped over her left shoulder, olive-green eyes, and casual outfits blending jeans with pastel shirts. Transforming into Shiny Luminous, her hair bursts into vibrant blonde pigtails adorned with pink bows, her attire shifting to a pink ruffled dress layered with gold and ruby accents, arm warmers, and leg warmers. Wielding the Heartiel Baton, she executes support techniques like Heartiel Action to hinder foes and combines forces with Cure Black and Cure White for the Extreme Luminario attack. A power upgrade to Super Shiny Luminous refines her costume with feather-like frills and a magenta brooch, signaling heightened abilities.
Gentle yet introverted, Hikari often masks her worries to shield others from strain. She nurtures a maternal bond with fairy companions Pollun and Lulun, who enable her transformations, and fiercely protects Akane and classmates Nao and Miu. A cryptic link to a boy unravels as Kujou Hikaru—her biological brother and the reincarnated "life" aspect of the Dark King.
Her arc in *Max Heart* revolves around reclaiming scattered Heartiels to revive the Queen, climaxing in her temporary fusion with the Queen during their final confrontation before regaining autonomy as a human. Later narratives, including *Kibou no Chikara ~Otona Pretty Cure '23~*, see her grappling with moral dilemmas while combating the Shadows, ultimately reaffirming solidarity as her creed. Spin-offs like *Futari wa Pretty Cure Sky Jewel* cast her as a guardian to Fujimura Aika and Tanaka Masami—daughters of Nagisa and Honoka—mentoring their quest to rescue their mothers from the Dark Zone.
Films introduce alternate costumes: a frilly yellow dress in the first *Max Heart* movie and a pink turtleneck paired with her Tako Cafe apron in its sequel. Future timelines (*Fuji-P's Weird Life*) depict her managing the Tako Cafe and raising daughters Kira and Mitsuki, intertwining her legacy with themes of family and continuity.
The name Kujou Hikari merges "nine clauses"—nodding to the Queen’s tripartite division and the number’s divisibility—with "light," encapsulating her duality as both a remnant of the Queen’s legacy and a self-defined beacon.
