Description
Kujou Hikari begins as the physical manifestation of the "life" aspect of the fragmented Queen of the Garden of Light, divided into three entities: the Heartiels (her will), Queen Chairect (her heart), and Hikari (her life). After separation, she loses all memories and powers tied to her former existence, adopting a passive human life in the Garden of Rainbows. She attends Verone Academy and assists at Fujita Akane's mobile takoyaki stand, where Akane introduces her as a cousin. Her human persona displays naivety, gentleness, and introspection—she habitually gazes at the sky while pondering her forgotten past. Rarely expressing anger or strong negativity, this trait occasionally worries her close companions. She forges deep bonds with Misumi Nagisa and Yukishiro Honoka, who respond with protective, near-motherly concern during peril.

Her alter ego, Shiny Luminous, activates via the Touch Commune device alongside Pollun, a fairy sensing their intrinsic link. Despite amnesia, she adapts swiftly to this role. Transforming, she declares: "Shining life, Shiny Luminous! The light's heart and the light's will, for the sake of uniting all as one!" Her appearance shifts to feature elongated, vivid blonde hair in thick pigtails with pink bows bearing red hearts, a light pink ruffled dress, golden heart earrings, and heart-adorned arm and leg warmers. Functioning primarily as support, she wields the Heartiel Baton for the slowing technique "Heartiel Action" and later acquires defensive abilities through Lulun's Heartiel Brooch. She teams with Cure Black and Cure White for combined assaults like "Extreme Luminario." Yellow and pink theme colors permeate her design, visible in elements like her waist ribbon.

In *Futari wa Pretty Cure Max Heart 2: Yukizora no Tomodachi*, Hikari finds a warm egg on a mountain excursion; it hatches into a phoenix chick named Hinata. She instantly connects with it, guarding Hinata with Pollun and Lulun. When frost antagonists Freezen and Frozen target the chick to eradicate global warmth, Hikari focuses on its protection. A climactic battle temporarily enhances her powers: channeling energy into Hinata revitalizes the phoenix and grants Hikari fiery feathered wings and an elongated dress. This form augments her Heartiel Baton with flame attributes but remains exclusive to this event. The narrative also highlights her role in reconciling Nagisa and Honoka's temporarily fractured friendship.

Her relationships include fiercely maternal guardianship of Lulun and a patient, non-confrontational tie to Pollun—she never shouts at him, unintentionally distressing him as he equates anger with care. She shares polite, familial rapport with Akane and friendships with classmates Tabata Nao and Kagayama Miu. A recurring subplot explores her mysterious link to a boy later revealed as her biological brother, Kujou Hikaru. Future timelines show her mentoring Fujimura Aika and Tanaka Masami—Nagisa and Honoka's daughters—guiding their mission to rescue their mothers.

Etymologically, her surname "Kujou" merges "ku" (nine) and "jou" (article/clause), potentially nodding to the Queen's tripartite division (nine being divisible by three) or echoing "jouou" (queen). Her given name "Hikari" (light) aligns with Shiny Luminous's powers. Her September 9 birthday reinforces the "nine" motif. She stands as the first non-Cure character with transformation abilities and narrative weight equal to main Cures, later inspiring figures like Milky Rose.
