Description
Rei Amayado, born Rei Yamada, is a former military technical developer who resigned to independently create the Hypnosis Microphone—a rap-based neural weapon—plus the True Hypnosis Mic and Hypnosis Canceller. His wife Nayuta was taken hostage during a mutual manipulation scheme with the political entity Chuohku, prompting Rei to expose the corruption of politician Otome Tohoten’s father. This act contributed to the rise of Otome's Party of Words and a governmental coup that banned physical weapons in favor of Hypnosis Mic rap battles.

After Nayuta’s unspecified death, his eldest son Ichiro fled with brothers Jiro and Saburo to an orphanage, declaring both parents dead. Rei adopted the alias "Rei Amayado" and turned to con artistry. One scam deceived Rosho Tsutsujimori's student, triggering a rap battle where Rei individually defeated Rosho and Sasara Nurude but lost to their combined efforts. This engineered encounter secured his position as the third member of hip-hop group Dotsuitare Hompo.

Rei presents a humorous, easygoing facade, using self-deprecating terms like "Oji-chan" and frequenting bars to mask his identity. His demeanor carries underlying menace through informal, manipulative speech patterns. Fundamentally paranoid and calculative, he executes meticulous long-term strategies with self-perceived godlike control. Despite this, he shows genuine care for his Dotsuitare Hompo teammates and late wife, though ambition often clouds his judgment.

Physically, he has wavy black hair, a beard, and a scar near his right eye. He exhibits complete heterochromia—a green left eye and grey right eye, typically hidden behind sunglasses; fan observations note occasional colored contacts disguise his eyes even post-identity reveal. His flamboyant attire includes a maroon shirt, black fur coat, white snakeskin pants, beige shoes, a gold snake-buckle belt, gold watch, large gold chain, and a black brick-patterned hat with a fan-shaped clip. His Hypnosis Mic resembles a gold-and-black laurel-accented scepter paired with phoenix-designed folding screen speakers.

Rei’s rap ability "FRAUD" remains officially unexplained. His alias "Amayado" is a near-anagram of "Yamada," while his given name "Rei" (zero) contrasts his sons' names: Ichiro (first son), Jiro (second son), and Saburo (third son). He maintains secrecy regarding his true motives and familial connections while active in Dotsuitare Hompo.
