A childhood witness to a traumatic train accident that claimed both parents, this event caused him to shut down emotionally as a shield, resulting in partial amnesia. Only fragmented memories of the incident remain. Following the tragedy, he came to live with his uncle, Jiro Yobitsugi.

Generally disinterested in people and activities, he displays apathy in most interactions. Despite this pervasive emotional detachment, he possesses exceptional talent and strategic genius specifically in playing the Vanguard card game.
