Description
Keiichirō Sakamoto, also known as Sakamoto Keiichirō, was a Japanese bandit who operated with his wife, O-gin. He possessed dark eyes, long slicked black hair, a thin stubble, and sharp eyes. A tattooed map covered his upper body, forming part of a larger coded design that revealed the location of hidden Ainu gold. Decades of running barefoot thickened the soles of his feet to a toughness likened to elephant hide.

Sakamoto exhibited a vicious nature, yet held deep loyalty and affection for O-gin. This devotion manifested as extreme possessiveness; he killed anyone who engaged in sexual relations with his wife. Their criminal partnership mirrored the American duo Bonnie and Clyde, involving coordinated robberies and violent escapades across Hokkaido. Their first documented crime was a bank robbery, escaping on horseback, marking the start of their notoriety in the "Lightning and O-Gin Arc."

His criminal activities led to imprisonment at Abashiri Prison, where he became one of the 24 convicts tattooed with fragments of the Ainu gold map. Sakamoto demonstrated exceptional physical prowess. His barefoot running granted remarkable speed and stamina, enabling him to rival horses in endurance. He possessed high pain tolerance, a robust physique, and was proficient with firearms, particularly shotguns, as well as skilled in hand-to-hand combat. His primary equipment was a shotgun, used effectively during robberies and confrontations.

Sakamoto and O-Gin's story received an expanded adaptation in the spin-off OVA "Golden Kamuy: Tsurumi Tokushirō no Shukugan," specifically within the segment adapting the manga chapter "Inazuma Gōtō to Mamushi no O-Gin" ("The Lightning Thief and Viper Ogin"), detailing their exploits as a criminal couple. Trivia notes suggest Sakamoto's design may draw inspiration from Mickey Knox (*Natural Born Killers*, portrayed by Woody Harrelson). In a 2018 series-wide popularity poll, he ranked 51st with 566 votes.
