Tosuke Megishima enrolled in Tōtsuki Culinary Academy, Japan's premier culinary institution, as part of its 90th Generation. Introduced as the tallest and most physically imposing member of the Elite Ten Council, he possesses a large nose, half-closed eyes, and black hair swept into a triangular shape at the front, flowing just below his neck at the back. He typically wears the standard Tōtsuki uniform with a casual branded shirt minus the tie and a distinct Chullo bobble headgear featuring thick stripes. Naturally silent and taciturn, Megishima showed little interest in competition or initiating shokugeki. Nevertheless, accumulated victories from unsought challenges earned him the Elite Ten Council's third seat, an achievement he found perplexing. His true dedication lay in mastering ramen, journeying nationwide operating a ramen cart to refine his craft. This path led him to assist numerous ramen chefs and restaurant owners with operational challenges, earning him the industry monikers "Young Master" or "Boss Megishima" and recognition as Japan's Ramen King. He held a firm conviction that cuisine should prioritize customer satisfaction over winning or losing, opposing its use as a tool for conflict. This philosophy fueled his resistance against Azami Nakiri's leadership at Tōtsuki, which endangered the autonomy of local ramen businesses he supported. Voting against Azami's appointment as director resulted in Megishima's removal from the Elite Ten. Initially declining to join the rebel faction during the Régiment de Cuisine, Megishima reversed his stance after persistent ramen duel challenges from Sōma Yukihira. Sōma's tenacity despite repeated defeat and collapse impressed Megishima, leading him to participate at full capacity. He decisively defeated fifth seat Shōko Kaburagi in the first bout. Facing former colleague Rindō Kobayashi in the second bout with chili peppers as the theme, he crafted an original African Ramen incorporating peanuts, harissa paste, and muamba chicken soup. Though acclaimed for its innovative fusion aligning with the ingredient, he lost to Rindō's alligator meat creation. After graduation, Megishima traveled to Paris and established a successful ramen cart. Years later, he returned as an alumnus to serve as a judge during the Tōtsuki Friendship and Rapport Training Camp. His mastery of ramen endures, including the ability to synthesize global cuisines into novel creations and his commitment to preserving the cultural integrity of ramen shops.
