Description
Shera L. Greenwood is a central figure in the narrative, introduced as an elf and the first princess of the Greenwood Kingdom, a nation governed by elves. Despite her royal lineage, which at the start of the story spans one hundred and sixty years, she possesses a youthful and diminutive appearance. Her long, golden blonde hair, often styled with a braid and adorned with a simple grass ornament, along with her long, pointed ears, mark her elven heritage. Unlike the typically slender frame common among her race, Shera has a notably curvaceous and voluptuous figure, which is a frequent point of visual emphasis and a source of self-consciousness for her, contrasting with the usual elven physique. Her characteristic outfit is a green tunic known as the Coat of Princess, a garment held together with strings that reveals much of her skin.

Her cheerful, warm-hearted, and emotionally expressive personality defines many of her interactions. She is often portrayed as a lovable fool or an airhead, displaying a charming naivety, especially regarding romance and intimacy; for instance, she once genuinely believed that sleeping next to a man could result in pregnancy. This naivety is paired with a deep-seated fear of loneliness, which is a primary driver of her actions. Having suffered from isolation during her royal upbringing and trauma from familial conflict, she craves genuine companionship and often seeks physical closeness with those she trusts. Despite her playful and sometimes impulsive demeanor, Shera is pure-hearted, incapable of holding grudges, and possesses a surprising capacity for forgiveness, even toward those who have wronged her.

Shera's motivations are rooted in a quest for self-worth and freedom from oppressive tradition. The Greenwood Kingdom adhered to a rigid custom demanding she bear a child with her elder brother, Kiira, to preserve the royal bloodline. Horrified by this expectation and her brother's twisted advances, she vehemently rejected this fate, stole royal treasures to finance her escape, and fled her homeland to become an adventurer. Her journey was driven by a desire to prove her own value outside the confines of her royal obligations and to find a place where she belonged. This led her to pursue the path of a summoner, as she hoped to call forth companions who would alleviate her loneliness. Her role in the story is cemented when she, alongside Rem Galleu, performs a summoning ritual at Starfall Tower. Their intention was to enslave a powerful demon lord, but due to the magic reflection ability of the summoned being, Diablo, the spell backfired. Consequently, Shera and Rem became magically bound as his slaves, a twist that forces her into an unexpected partnership and serves as the catalyst for her adventures.

Her key relationships are central to her development. Her bond with Diablo, the summoned demon lord, evolves from a forced master-servant dynamic into a close companionship and, eventually, a romantic relationship, as she becomes one of his primary love interests. With Rem Galleu, a Pantherian who performed the summoning ritual with her, Shera shares a complex and deep friendship. While Rem often bluntly teases her, calling her an idiot or a fatty elf, they remain close friends, supportive partners, and friendly rivals for Diablo’s affections. Her relationship with her brother, Kiira, is fraught with trauma due to his obsessive and inappropriate intentions. Despite her strong resentment and the fact that she fled to escape him, Shera’s forgiving nature is showcased when she mourns his death, admitting she never expected their parting to be so final.

Shera possesses a notable array of abilities that make her a formidable adventurer, even if she does not always recognize her own talents. From childhood, she was a prodigious archer, evaluated as a level forty archer by her kingdom’s Adventurers Association. Her skill with a bow is exceptional, including the use of martial arts such as Triangle Shot, which fires three arrows in rapid succession, and Angel Shot, which drastically increases accuracy. By the fifth volume of the light novel, her archery level is appraised as at least seventy, and her overall level surpasses ninety, reflecting significant growth. Despite this prowess, she initially shows a conflicted attitude toward her archery skills, as she is far more interested in becoming a summoner to fight her loneliness. As a summoner, she has a magical affinity for fire and can summon a low-level creature called Turkey Shot, a rotund bird about the size of a basketball that she uses for reconnaissance via a shared vision ability. She also possesses a rare innate talent called Aura Vision, allowing her to see the flow of magical power without any formal training, a skill she has had since childhood. Her most glaring weakness is in close-quarters combat, where she tends to freeze when an enemy approaches.

Throughout the story, Shera undergoes significant development. She begins as a runaway princess who fled her traumatic past and sought external strength in the form of a summoned demon lord. Her journey with Diablo and Rem forces her to confront her own capabilities, leading her to rely on her archery out of necessity during dangerous adventures. She evolves from a dependent individual seeking protection to a more confident and self-assured adventurer and fighter. She also works to overcome her trauma, eventually rising to become the queen of the Greenwood Kingdom by the seventh volume, a position she accepts on her own terms, balancing leadership with the hard-won independence she sought from the start.
