TV-Series
Description
Brogy, known as the Red Ogre, is a colossal giant from the warrior nation of Elbaf and one of the two former captains of the legendary Giant Warrior Pirates. With his massive, muscular frame, Brogy wears a distinctive Viking-style outfit consisting of a red tunic with golden button straps, fur linings, yellow and black striped pants, and a horned red helmet. His most recognizable facial features include a wide grin, beady eyes, a pig-like nose, and a large blonde beard shaped like an axe blade. At an impressive height, he embodies the physical might expected of an Elbaf warrior. His bounty, originally set at 100,000,000 Berries from his active pirating days a century ago, was later updated to 1,800,000,000 Berries following his return to the seas and involvement in the Egghead Incident, reflecting both inflation and his renewed threat level.

In terms of personality, Brogy is a fundamentally good-natured and honorable giant who adheres strictly to the warrior customs of his homeland. He is driven by immense pride and believes in fighting with dignity and integrity, following the rules of combat even when severely wounded. This pride, however, can sometimes cloud his judgment. Brogy possesses a unique and boisterous laugh, often expressed as "Gaba" or "Gababababa." He values friendship and loyalty highly, showing great respect for those he considers allies. He is open and welcoming to new people, particularly those associated with his friends, and places absolute trust in the bonds he forms. When his honor is compromised, such as when outside interference taints a sacred duel, he feels no joy in victory, only a sense that something is fundamentally wrong.

Brogy's background is rooted in a tale of pride and tradition. Over one hundred years ago, he and his co-captain and best friend, Dorry, were among the most feared pirates on the seas. After a successful hunt where each had slain a massive Sea King, a young girl asked which of the two beasts was larger. Unable to agree, the pair was bound by the laws of Elbaf to settle the dispute through combat. This led them to the island of Little Garden, where they began an eternal duel that would last for a century. They fought each time the island's central volcano erupted, their battles always ending in a draw.

Brogy's role in the main story begins when the Straw Hat Pirates arrive on Little Garden. He initially frightens Nami and Usopp but proves to be non-hostile, simply desiring alcohol and food. He forms a bond with the crew, particularly inspiring Usopp with tales of Elbaf's warrior culture. When the Baroque Works agent Mr. 3 sabotages the duel by tricking and poisoning Dorry, Brogy believes he has finally won, only to discover the deception. He is subsequently trapped by Mr. 3's wax powers but is rescued by Monkey D. Luffy. After learning that Dorry survived, the two giants reconcile and use their combined signature attack, Hakoku, to clear a path for the Straw Hats to leave the island. For years afterward, they were seen continuing their endless duel.

Key relationships define Brogy's journey. His most significant bond is with Dorry. Despite being locked in mortal combat for a century, they remain best friends who hold each other in the deepest respect. Their competitive dynamic is one of mutual admiration, not hatred. Brogy also forms a lasting friendship with the Straw Hat Pirates, especially Luffy and Usopp, which leads him to later provide them with crucial aid. He is also an old friend of the Emperor Shanks, referring to him as a brother and coming to his aid during a confrontation with the Kid Pirates. Within his own crew, the Giant Warrior Pirates, Brogy is a revered captain, and his warriors are fiercely loyal to him.

Brogy's development over the course of the series shows a progression from a warrior trapped in a timeless duel to an active player on the world stage. He and Dorry eventually ended their century-long battle and returned to Elbaf, reforming their crew. They later traveled to Egghead to rescue the Straw Hats from the Marines and the Five Elders, demonstrating their powerful alliance. During the subsequent Elbaf Arc, Brogy faced new trials, including being temporarily transformed into a demonic figure by the world's ruler, Imu, which brought out a more violent and primal side of his nature before he was restored. This event further cements his role as a major ally and a warrior of immense significance.

Brogy's notable abilities are a testament to his status as an elite giant warrior. He possesses superhuman strength and durability, even by the standards of his race, allowing him to fight equally with Dorry for a century. He is capable of easily killing the large dinosaurs of Little Garden and breaking free from substances as hard as steel. His primary weapon is a massive battle axe named the Bruiser Axe, which he wields alongside a large shield. He can perform powerful flying slash attacks with his axe. Together with Dorry, Brogy can perform the legendary combined attack known as Hakoku, which generates a devastating compressed air beam capable of piercing through massive creatures like the Island Eater, a giant fish that devours entire islands. This technique channels the very warrior spirit of Elbaf itself.
