Description
Brogy, known as the Red Ogre, is a colossal giant from the warrior nation of Elbaf. He served as one of the two co-captains of the renowned Giant Warrior Pirates, a crew that was once one of the most feared and powerful on the seas. His reputation as a formidable pirate earned him a bounty of 100,000,000 a century ago, and after returning to active piracy, his bounty was updated to 1,800,000,000 due to inflation and his renewed threat level.

In terms of personality, Brogy is good-natured and honorable, possessing a deep and unwavering pride in the fighting customs of his homeland. He adheres to these warrior codes strictly, even when severely wounded, and places immense value on the concepts of honor and fair combat. This pride, however, can sometimes lead to stubbornness and competitiveness. His signature laugh is a unique and hearty "Gaba" (sounding like "Gababababababa!"). Despite his intimidating size and fearsome appearance, he is not malicious and can be quite amicable, as seen when he befriended the terrified Nami and Usopp after they landed on Little Garden.

Brogy's central motivation and defining role in the story are rooted in a seemingly trivial dispute. One hundred years before the main storyline, he and his best friend and co-captain, Dorry, each slew a massive Sea King. When a little girl asked which of their catches was bigger, the two could not agree. Following the ancient laws of Elbaf, this disagreement could only be settled by a duel to the death. Consequently, Brogy and Dorry began a lifelong battle on the prehistoric island of Little Garden, vowing to fight whenever the island's central volcano erupted until one of them emerged victorious. Over the course of a century, their duels always ended in a draw, and they eventually forgot the original reason for their conflict, continuing to fight purely for the sake of their warrior's pride and the honor of Elbaf.

Brogy's role as a major ally to the Straw Hat Pirates begins when the crew arrives on Little Garden. Initially frightening the crew's weaker members, he quickly becomes a source of inspiration for Usopp, who is deeply moved by the giants' unwavering dedication to their honor. During this arc, the Baroque Works agent Mr. 3 interferes with the sacred duel, tricking Brogy into defeating a sabotaged Dorry. When Brogy discovers his victory was false, he feels no joy, only a sense of violation. After being freed from Mr. 3's trap by Monkey D. Luffy, Brogy helps the Straw Hats escape the island by joining Dorry in a devastating combined attack on a massive island-eating goldfish, clearing a path to the sea.

The most significant relationship in Brogy's life is with Dorry. They are best friends who hold each other in the deepest respect, yet their culture compels them to be mortal rivals locked in a century-long duel. Their competitive and bickering dynamic has been compared to that of the Straw Hats' own Roronoa Zoro and Sanji. Beyond his bond with Dorry, Brogy developed a strong friendship with the Straw Hat Pirates, particularly Usopp, whose dream of visiting Elbaf was sparked by the giants' stories. Many years later, Brogy and Dorry would repay this friendship by sailing to Egghead to aid Luffy and his crew against the overwhelming forces of the Navy and the Five Elders. They are also revealed to be old friends of the Emperor Shanks, whom they affectionately call "brother," and they assisted him in defeating the Kid Pirates when Eustass Kid threatened Elbaf.

Over the course of the story, Brogy undergoes significant development. The century-long duel with Dorry finally ends after the interference of Baroque Works, which forces them to confront the reality of their battle. Realizing their weapons had rusted and weakened over a hundred years of combat, they set aside their endless fight. They later returned to Elbaf, reformed the Giant Warrior Pirates, and re-emerged as an active force in the world's final saga, once again taking to the seas as a powerful crew.

As a warrior of Elbaf and a former captain of the Giant Warrior Pirates, Brogy possesses monstrous strength, far surpassing that of even ordinary giants. He is durable enough to fight for a century and can effortlessly hunt the dinosaurs of Little Garden, treating their bites as minor annoyances. His raw power allows him to break free from materials as hard as steel. In combat, he traditionally wields a massive battle axe named the Bruiser Axe and a large shield. His most notable ability is a devastating flying slash attack performed in unison with Dorry. This technique, which channels the "warrior code" of Elbaf, unleashes two compressed air beams that can cleave through almost anything, including the sea itself and ancient giant creatures like the Island Eater. The sheer force of this attack is so immense that after a hundred years of use, it shattered their now-rusty weapons.
