Description
Dorry, known as the Blue Ogre, is a giant from the island of Elbaf and one of the two former captains of the fabled Giant Warrior Pirates. Hailing from a warrior culture, he is a massive and imposing figure, easily dwarfing ordinary humans who can fit in the palm of his hand. At over one hundred and sixty years old, he is considered to be in the prime of his life for a giant. Dorry typically wears traditional Viking-inspired armor, complete with a horned helmet that often covers his eyes, and he carries a large, round shield. His most distinguishing features are his long, dark beard and his booming, unique laugh, which rings out as Gegya Gegyagya.

Born in Elbaf, Dorry once led the Giant Warrior Pirates alongside his partner, Brogy. During their pirating days, he earned a bounty of 100,000,000, a testament to his immense strength and the threat his crew posed. A century ago, a trivial argument over which of the two captains had caught a larger sea king led to a dispute that could only be settled by their homeland's warrior customs. To resolve the matter, Dorry and Brogy journeyed to the isolated, prehistoric island of Little Garden to engage in a duel to the death, believing that Elbaf's gods would favor the victor. This battle, fueled by honor and pride, continued for one hundred years without a single resolution.

In terms of personality, Dorry is fundamentally good-natured and hospitable, as seen when he quickly befriended Monkey D. Luffy and his crew, sharing food and stories of his long-running duel. However, his immense pride as an Elbaf warrior is his defining trait. He adheres strictly to his homeland's codes of combat, believing that a warrior's honor supersedes all else, including personal safety or even common sense. This pride can cloud his judgment. When he was sabotaged by an external party, his honor-bound logic led him to falsely accuse his new friends, as the thought of an outsider interfering with his sacred duel was an affront he could not immediately accept. Despite this, his nature is ultimately loyal and appreciative, and he deeply values friendship and respect.

Dorry's role in the story is that of a significant ally to the Straw Hat Pirates. During their voyage through Little Garden, he and Luffy formed a bond similar to that of old comrades. His century-long, daily battle with Brogy captivated Luffy, who admired the purity and mutual respect of their rivalry. When the Baroque Works agent Mr. 3 interfered with their duel by planting a bomb in Dorry's drink in an attempt to claim their bounties, Dorry was severely wounded. Believing the Straw Hats responsible for the dishonorable act, he attacked them. Luffy, understanding the gravity of a warrior's honor, fought to subdue the injured giant and prove his innocence. After realizing the truth, Dorry reconciled with Luffy and, despite his critical injuries, insisted on returning to his duel with Brogy, a decision that nearly cost him his life. He ultimately survived thanks to the intervention of the Straw Hats, and he and Brogy used their combined strength to blast a path for their new friends to leave the island.

His most important relationship is undoubtedly with Brogy. They are best friends whose mutual respect and competitive spirit are so profound that they have willingly fought each other for a century. While their duel is a fight to the death, it is born of honor, not hatred, and their bond remains unbreakable. Dorry also shares a strong friendship with Luffy, respecting his tenacity and his refusal to let the integrity of the giants' duel be destroyed. In later events, Dorry and Brogy are shown to have left Little Garden to repay their debt to Luffy, demonstrating that their loyalty extends far beyond their island. They have also been depicted as close allies of the Emperor Shanks, referring to him as a brother.

As a giant from Elbaf, Dorry possesses raw physical power that far exceeds that of a normal human. His strength is such that he can easily hunt the giant dinosaurs of Little Garden. His most notable display of power is his ability to launch a flying slash attack from his sword, the Terry Sword. With this technique, he and Brogy were able to kill the Island Eater, a legendary goldfish large enough to swallow entire islands, with a single, simultaneous ranged strike from a great distance. Despite his immense durability and stamina, which allowed him to fight for a century and survive an internal explosion, his weapon showed the toll of time, as a hundred years of combat dulled the blade and caused it to break. His abilities are held in such high regard that even Baroque Works agents, capable of defeating pirates with bounties in the tens of millions, admitted they could not defeat him in a fair fight.
