Description
Mezami is a supporting antagonist in the anime Giant Beasts of Ars. He serves as the head of a research facility within the empire, where he conducts unethical experiments on clerics and paladins to create a controllable army. His primary motivation is to amass power and maintain control over the various demihuman tribes, whom he views as mere pets or tools to be tamed and exploited. Mezami possesses little to no moral scruples, approaching his work with a cold, detached demeanor that borders on insanity. He is willing to use any means necessary to recover escaped subjects, such as Kuumi, who is the twenty-second prototype in his series of cleric experiments. In the story, Mezami’s pursuit of Kuumi sets the initial conflict in motion, forcing the protagonist Jiro to protect her and travel across the land. His role is that of a calculated, behind-the-scenes schemer who relies on his soldiers and scientific resources to achieve his goals. Key relationships include his antagonistic connection with Kuumi, whom he created and now hunts, and his cooperation with other imperial officials like Bakla. Mezami’s development remains static throughout the series; he never wavers in his pursuit of control and continues his experiments unabated. Notable abilities stem from his scientific expertise, allowing him to artificially produce clerics and enhance paladins, thereby exerting influence over the empire’s military might. Physically, he is an adult male with short blonde hair and blue eyes, often seen in a lab coat or formal attire that underscores his role as a cold intellectual.
