Description
Predacon Megatron is a major antagonist in the anime Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy - Kingdom. He is the Predacon counterpart of the original Megatron and serves as the leader of the Predacons. He comes from a dystopian future in which Cybertron has become uninhabitable, largely as a result of the loss of the Allspark and the threat posed by Unicron and Galvatron. Determined to prevent that bleak future from ever occurring, he travels back in time to find the original Megatron and help him recover the Allspark.
Aboard the Nemesis, Predacon Megatron explains to the original Megatron what became of Cybertron, why the Predacons traveled to Earth at that particular time and place, and what importance the Golden Disk holds in shaping events. Despite being a leader in his own right, he is openly dedicated and loyal to the original Megatron, the one individual he seems to genuinely respect and fear. He even declares that he will never become a problem for his Lord Megatron, showing that his identity and purpose are closely tied to serving and safeguarding the legacy of the Decepticon leader.
In personality, Predacon Megatron is driven, calculating, and willing to go to extreme lengths, even tearing time and space apart, to achieve victory over the Maximals. His decision to rewrite history by restoring the Allspark to the Decepticons of the past reveals both his desperation and his firm belief that a different future can be forged through strength and control. His deep loyalty is paired with the ambition of a conqueror, making him a commanding and dangerous presence.
His key relationships center on the original Megatron, whom he treats with deference and reverence, and on Optimus Primal and the Maximals, whom he opposes as enemies. His encounters with the original Megatron define much of his role in the story, as he tries to guide history toward the outcome he desires while remaining a subordinate to the leader he admires.
In terms of abilities, Predacon Megatron transforms into a massive purple Tyrannosaurus Rex. In robot mode, one arm ends in the T-Rex head while the other forms the tail with a pincer. This dual form grants him a powerful physical presence in combat, and he relies on his size, strength, and imposing appearance as the leader of the Predacon forces.
