ONA
Description
Mirage is an Autobot spy and a member of the crew aboard the Ark in the Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy series, including the Kingdom chapter. Before the war, he was part of Cybertron’s affluent upper class, accustomed to a life of luxury, vintage energon, and leisure activities such as turbofox hunting on his own estate. When the conflict between Autobots and Decepticons erupted, he was compelled to choose a side and joined the Autobots, though he never felt fully at home among them. He often regards the war as beneath a civilized being and privately wishes that a peaceful resolution could be found. This attitude has led some of his fellow Autobots to view him as aloof or even as a potential Decepticon sympathizer. Despite his detached demeanor, Mirage is a highly capable field operative and an especially effective intelligence gatherer. He carries an electro-disruptor that allows him to project illusions, which can render him invisible or make him appear to be somewhere he is not, making him invaluable for reconnaissance and infiltration. He is also a precise marksman. Mirage’s motivations are complex: he serves Optimus Prime out of a sense of duty that is not always easy to see beneath his self-involvement, but he has proven himself a loyal ally when the Autobots need him most. In the Kingdom season, he continues to support the Autobot mission as the crew becomes stranded on a strange, prehistoric world and encounters the Maximals and Predacons. He has notable interactions with fellow Autobots such as Cliffjumper, who has openly questioned his trustworthiness. Throughout the War for Cybertron Trilogy, Mirage develops from a reluctant soldier into a more reliable member of the team, though he retains his signature aristocratic bearing and preference for subtle, intelligent tactics over brute force. His role in the story is that of a stealth specialist and infiltrator who uses his illusion abilities to gather critical intelligence and turn the tide in key moments.
