Description
Lola is a Force-sensitive human female who appears in the episode Sith, the opening short of Star Wars: Visions Volume 2. She once served as the apprentice of a Sith Master, training in the dark side of the Force, but eventually abandoned that path in favor of a peaceful, isolated existence. After leaving the Sith, she settled on a remote moon with her small, ball-shaped droid companion E2, seeking to build a new life free from her past.

Lola’s personality is marked by a quiet determination and a deep internal struggle. She is introspective and artistic, channeling her emotions and her connection to the Force into painting. She works on a large mural within her base, but every attempt to create color and light is subverted by an encroaching darkness that stains her work black. This visual metaphor reflects her unresolved conflict: she wants to distance herself from the dark side, yet the darkness remains a part of her. She is also resilient and resourceful, able to pilot a speeder and defend herself when threatened.

Her primary motivation is to forge her own identity outside the rigid dichotomy of Jedi and Sith. She wants to live in peace and express herself through art, but she is haunted by the fear that her former master will find her. When that master, Lord Kutu, does track her down accompanied by two slayer droids, Lola is forced to confront both the threat and her own buried darkness. She does not wish to return to the Sith or to kill out of hatred, but she understands that she cannot simply ignore the dark side within her.

In the story, Lola serves as the protagonist of a self-contained tale about balance and self-acceptance. Her role is to demonstrate that rejecting part of oneself is not the same as overcoming it. The key relationship in the episode is with her former master, Lord Kutu, a menacing Sith lord who seeks to reclaim her as his apprentice or destroy her. Their confrontation is both physical and emotional. Lola also shares a close bond with her droid E2, who acts as a loyal helper and provides companionship in her solitude.

Lola undergoes significant development over the course of the short. Initially, she tries to suppress her connection to the dark side, but this only causes her paintings to turn black and leaves her vulnerable. In the climax of her duel with Kutu, she has an epiphany: the darkness is not something to be excised but to be integrated. She ignites a second blade from her lightsaber, transforming it into a double-ended weapon with one yellow blade and one red blade. This act symbolizes her acceptance of both light and dark as part of her. She defeats her master and declares, I am no Sith, asserting her independence. After the battle, she finishes her mural—now depicting her double-bladed lightsaber and a sun—and leaves the moon with E2, ready to chart her own course.

Notable abilities include her Force sensitivity, which allows her to manipulate objects and colors. She uses the Force to levitate orbs of paint and to alter their hues, though initially the colors resist her and turn black. She is a skilled lightsaber duelist, wielding a uniquely curved, rapier-like yellow lightsaber. Her signature ability is her eventual mastery of a double-bladed lightsaber with blades of different colors, representing her balanced approach to the Force. She also demonstrates agility and combat prowess while riding a speeder and fighting the slayer droids.
