Description
Ceras Yanagida Lilienfeld is a main character introduced in the multimedia project Link! Like! Love Live! and is a member of the Hasunosora Girls' High School Idol Club. Her image color is rise scarlet. She is a first-year student enrolled with the 105th class at Hasunosora, though she was initially a supporting character and rival who first appeared as a third-year junior student at Mizukawa Girls' School before transferring following that school's closure. Ceras has a distinct heritage, being half-German, which is reflected in her dual surname. Her appearance is characterized by light blue eyes and grey-white wavy hair that falls just past her shoulders, which she often keeps back with salmon pink ribbons.
In terms of personality, Ceras is generally soft-spoken but possesses a strong sense of determination. Her love for school idols is so significant that she often finds herself thinking about them even during class. She has a side that enjoys attention and can be somewhat needy, described as a slightly spoiled or clingy individual. Ceras also has a playful and teasing nature; she enjoys joking around with her close friends and is known to exaggerate stories to capture people's interest, as well as riling up others like her peer Ginko for amusement. Despite having a friendly demeanor, she maintains a healthy and competitive rivalry with her childhood friend Kaho Hinoshita, expressing happiness at Kaho's successes while still striving to win against her.
Ceras's background and motivations are deeply rooted in her childhood. She dreamed of becoming an expert violinist, but a weak constitution that led to frequent hospitalizations made it difficult for her to keep up with lessons. It was during this time in the hospital that she met and became close friends with Kaho Hinoshita, whom she affectionately calls Hana-chan. After Kaho was discharged, Ceras felt increasingly lonely until a performance by the Mizukawa School Idol Club inspired her. Initially skeptical of their songs about achieving dreams, she eventually found a new goal in becoming a school idol, a dream she felt was attainable regardless of her circumstances. This led to her attending Mizukawa with the goal of winning the Love Live! competition. However, facing the closure of her school, she embarked on a mission to recruit members to save it, eventually meeting Izumi Katsuragi on a rainy day in Tokyo after approaching nearly three hundred schools. Izumi’s immediate agreement to help led Ceras to pledge everything to her in return.
Within the story, Ceras plays a multifaceted role. She was a key member of the previously independent duo Edel Note alongside Izumi Katsuragi before their unit became part of the Hasunosora idol club. She is also a member of the special sub-unit AiScReam. Her relationship with Izumi is central; Ceras manages many aspects of their activities, from creating training regimens to booking saunas to relieve Izumi's stress. Her bond with Kaho remains a core emotional anchor, transitioning from childhood friends to respectful rivals, and it is through Kaho's petition that Ceras was initially allowed to perform in the Love Live! competition.
Ceras undergoes notable development as her initial goal of saving her school through competition evolves. When Mizukawa's closure becomes inevitable, she eventually transfers to Hasunosora as a first-year student, determined to continue her journey as a school idol alongside Izumi. She is a capable and hardworking individual, managing not only herself but also demonstrating strong organizational skills in helping others. Her notable abilities include playing the violin, though she maintains it is just a hobby, as well as being skilled at imitating others and keeping herself occupied. Her hobbies also include watching horror movies.
