TV-Series
Description
Abigail Jones is a skilled con artist and key member of Laurent Thierry's team of swindlers. Her exceptional physical abilities stem partly from childhood ballet training. Her life was irrevocably altered when her parents were killed in a Baghdad bombing in March 2003, after which she became a child soldier. This trauma forged her into a self-reliant and guarded individual who describes herself as a lone wolf, believing people abandon you if you make a mistake and that one can only rely on oneself. She carries a dented medal from a ballet competition as a memento of her parents.
Throughout various confidence schemes, Abigail assumes multiple roles. In the Los Angeles Connection arc, she poses as one of Eddie Cassano's romantic interests to help Laurent sell fake drugs, convincingly feigning the effects of the substances. In the Singapore Sky arc, she impersonates a skilled pilot to challenge Clark Ibrahim in a rigged air race, though she ultimately switches places with Lewis Müller for the final event. During the Wizard of Far East arc, she poses as Abigail Ibrahim, the 16-year-old sister of Sam Ibrahim and a princess, to infiltrate the human trafficking organizations Suzaku Group and Scarlet Company. As part of this plan, she stages her own kidnapping to extort money from Akemi Suzaku.
Abigail maintains a tough exterior and exhibits guarded skepticism toward newcomers like Makoto Edamura, questioning his place on the team. Over time, she gradually develops closer bonds with her teammates. While her motivations sometimes operate independently of the team's goals, she remains a vital contributor through her skills in disguise, physical prowess, and strategic thinking.
Her interactions with Makoto Edamura form a significant aspect of her character. Though he develops a crush on her, their relationship evolves into one of mutual respect and friendship as Makoto learns to understand her boundaries and complexities.
