Description
Purirun is a fairy from the magical land of Kirakiland who becomes one of the central figures in the Kimi to Idol Precure♪ story, including the theatrical film. In her natural fairy form, she has ivory-colored fur, a pink belly, and a wing-shaped tail. She arrives on Earth after darkness overtakes her homeland, having fled Kirakiland in order to find the legendary heroes known as the Idol Precure. She is discovered by Uta Sakura floating down a river inside a large peach, and after a long search for the legendary protectors, it is revealed that Uta herself is one of them, making Purirun her fairy partner.

Purirun has an easygoing, leisurely, and self-paced personality, and she ends her sentences with the verbal tic "puri." When she blinks, sparkling lights can be seen inside her eyes. Beneath her relaxed manner, she is also stubborn, knows how to use her cuteness to get what she wants, and can be impulsive. She has a strong love of food, with octopus-shaped sausages named as her favorite, and her stated hobby and special skill is cheering. Her birthday is October 9, and her assigned color is white.

Using the power of the Heart Kirari Lock, Purirun transforms into Cure Zukyoon, one of the legendary Idol Precure. She joins the team as an additional warrior, with her designated fan service being "Zukyoon," delivered with a heart-shooting pose and the catchphrase "I'll take a shot at you!" Her transformation announcement includes the line "Heart, lock on with a puri! With you, zukkyun, Cure Zukyoon!" In her Cure form, her hair becomes brighter and lengthens to her midback, gains a hot pink streak on the left side that curls at the end, and her bangs take on a lime ombre. She retains her headdress, now decorated with gold four-point stars at its ends. When she transforms, her voice becomes more mature, her first-person pronoun changes, her manner of speaking grows more neutral, and she gains the ability to wink, something she is unable to do well in her fairy form.

Her central motivation is to save Kirakiland from the darkness that engulfed it and to protect the world from the forces threatening it. In the film, she takes part in the events on AiAi Island, where the Idol Precure are invited to perform at the Super Miracle Idol Festival. When a mysterious monster appears and the group is sent into the past, Cure Zukyoon fights alongside the other Cures to overcome the crisis, while also taking part in the festival's concert performances as an idol.

Her key relationships are with the other members of the Idol Precure. She is partnered with Uta Sakura, also known as Cure Idol, who found her and became her closest companion. She shares a particularly strong bond with Meroron, a fellow fairy from Kirakiland who transforms at the same time into Cure Kiss; the two operate as a pair both in fairy form and as Cures. Meroron admires Purirun and hopes for her affection in return, though Purirun appears oblivious to these feelings. She also works alongside Nana Aokaze, Cure Wink, and Kokoro Shigure, Cure Kyun-Kyun, and serves the ruler of Kirakiland, Queen Pikarine.

Over the course of the story, Purirun develops from a wandering fairy searching for heroes into a full-fledged Precure in her own right. Her awakening as a Cure carries a heavy emotional weight, as she gains her powers at the cost of sealing away Uta's memories in order to save Uta and the group. Later, when she and Meroron wish to become human, a Kiraki Light responds by transforming into a Kirakkiran Ribbon Baton, and by attaching the white Kiralun Ribbon she normally wears around her neck, Purirun gains a human form. In this form she enrolls at Hanamichi Middle School as a third-year student under the name Tanaka Purin, with Meroron taking on the role of her twin sister Tanaka Meron. Her human form reverts to her fairy form whenever she senses the presence of the enemy monsters known as Darkranda.

In battle, Cure Zukyoon uses the fan service "Zukyoon" as her signature attack style, and she can combine her power with Cure Kiss for the joint technique Zukyoon Kiss Destiny, as well as use attacks such as Zukyoon Bazooka. Beyond combat, her role as an idol Precure includes performing on stage, and in the film she is part of the group's concert-like performances during the festival.
