ONA
Description
Maximus Dragma is the supreme leader and high priest of the Dragma nation, a theocratic political superpower located in the isolated continent known as the Abyss. In the Japanese version he is called Maximus Dragma, while the English trading card game refers to him as Dogmatika Maximus. He appears as a supporting character in the The Fallen & The Virtuous episodes of Yu-Gi-Oh! CARD GAME THE CHRONICLES, which adapt the Abyss storyline from the card game. As both the highest religious authority and the ultimate political ruler, he commands absolute power over the nation's church and its crusader army, which is composed of devout followers of the Dragma faith. His central role is to administer the holy relic Tetradragmaton the Heart of Dogma, through which he bestows stigmata upon chosen individuals. This stigmata grants miraculous abilities, enabling the recipients to wield the power of the divine and fight as soldiers against heretics and heathens who threaten the nation's stability. His motivations are rooted in maintaining the purity and supremacy of the Dragma faith, eradicating opposition, and expanding the nation's influence across the Abyss. Key figures under his authority include Ecclesia, the Dragma Saint, and Fleur de Lis, the Dragma Knight Commander, both of whom receive stigmata from him and serve as the moral and military pillars of the nation. Over the course of the storyline, his actions contribute to the corruption of Dragma subjects through the light of Albion, but later those same subjects are restored to their original forms when the true flame dragon Albion appears, marking a significant development in the conflict. In terms of notable abilities, Maximus Dragma wields the power to grant stigmata and the authority to command the nation's crusade. His card counterpart, Dogmatika Maximus, reflects his nature as a high-ranking effect monster that can banish a Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, or Link Monster from the graveyard to special summon itself and force both players to send monsters from their extra deck to the graveyard.
