ONA
Description
Di-Amon, also written as Di-amon or Dai-Amon, is a character from the anime Bastard!! -Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy-: Hell's Requiem. He is one of the Three Sorcerer Generals who serves directly under the dark goddess Arshes Nei. Unlike his fellow generals, who were trained by Nei, Di-Amon came into her service already possessing immense power. His background is unique among them, as he was originally a human sorcerer who used his mastery of magic to transform himself into an immortal vampire, becoming a "True Ancestor" and one of the most powerful undead beings in the world.

Di-Amon possesses a highly distinctive and flamboyant personality, marked by immense ego and a deeply skewed perception of beauty. In his true vampire form, he appears as a tall, heavily muscled man with blue-grey skin, wild black hair, and a face made grotesque by a white skull-like tattoo. He considers this monstrous visage to be beautiful. Conversely, when he assumes his original human form, he becomes a slender, conventionally handsome pretty-boy, a look he himself finds hideous and shameful. This contradiction fuels his arrogance and his disdain for those who do not appreciate his preferred aesthetic. He is a narcissist who delights in his own power and appearance, often speaking in an overly dramatic and polite tone that contrasts sharply with his brutal actions.

Motivation and role in the story are driven by his vampiric nature and his ambition. He requires the blood of virgins to sustain and enhance his power, a quest that defines much of his early presence. He is sent by Arshes Nei to hunt down the powerful wizard Dark Schneider, but Di-Amon secretly harbors his own agenda. He plans to amass enough strength to overthrow not only his direct superior, Arshes Nei, but also her most powerful general, Kall-Su, intending to steal their power and claim their territory for himself. He sees the fact that Dark Schneider is trapped in the body of a young boy, Lucien Renlen, as a perfect opportunity to eliminate a major obstacle to his plans. He kidnaps Lucien and his companions, using them as bait.

Di-Amon's key relationships are primarily adversarial. His rivalry with fellow Sorcerer Generals Sean Ari and Kai Harn is immediate, as he easily overpowers them and even drinks Kai Harn's virgin blood to increase his own strength. His primary antagonist is Dark Schneider. After a fierce battle, Di-Amon's vulnerability to sunlight is exploited, causing him to turn to dust. However, as a powerful vampire, he survives and attempts to escape as a giant bat. Dark Schneider captures him and forces a curse upon him, the Blue Nail Curse of the Accused, which magically compels Di-Amon's eternal loyalty.

This curse leads to a significant development in his character. Following a two-year time skip, Di-Amon reappears not as a scheming traitor, but as a fiercely loyal servant to Dark Schneider. He infiltrates the fortress of Kall-Su, whom he now considers an enemy, intending to claim the castle as a gift for his new master. On the night of a full moon, which greatly amplifies his vampiric powers, he single-handedly defeats many of Kall-Su's elite Sorcerer Shoguns. Although he is ultimately defeated by Kall-Su, he manages to escape, demonstrating his resilience.

Di-Amon possesses a wide array of notable abilities stemming from his vampiric nature. He has superhuman strength, enough to send a person through a wall with a single punch, and a powerful healing factor that allows him to recover from most wounds. He has an enhanced sense of smell, which he uses to identify virgins. He can transform into a giant bat and is highly resistant to most forms of magic and physical attacks. Among his most devastating offensive spells are Assassin, a beam of destructive energy fired from his eyes, and Domain, a powerful bolt of energy unleashed from his hands. He also has a unique resurrection ability; if his body is destroyed by sunlight, he can return to his coffin in the form of a bat and be reborn after two days. While he has overcome common vampire weaknesses such as garlic and crosses, exposure to direct sunlight remains fatal, and certain powerful lightning and ice-based magic can still harm him.
