ONA
Description
Hogan is a supporting character in Pluto, serving as a guard robot. His most distinctive physical feature is his head, which is covered by a protective casing or protector. He possesses a sturdy and robust body designed for defensive purposes. In emergency situations, his arms and legs have the ability to extend and spread out thinly, allowing him to literally cover and shield the target he is protecting from harm.
In the story, Hogan is assigned to an escort mission for Epsilon, a much more powerful and advanced robot. Hogan is rather humbled by this fact, recognizing the significant gap in their abilities, and carries out his escort duties in a professional, businesslike manner. Despite his formal approach to his assignment, he demonstrates genuine concern and care, particularly for the human children living at Epsilon's facility.
Hogan's role becomes more prominent when he and Epsilon are targeted by the enemy. He arrives to escort Epsilon to a safe house, as Epsilon is believed to be the next target after the death of the robot detective Gesicht. During the attack on the safe house, Epsilon saves Hogan's life. When Epsilon and the enemy engage in a devastating aerial battle over Hunter Valley, Hogan protects the children at the facility from the shockwaves of the combat.
Hogan's dedication to his duty is most clearly demonstrated when Wassily, one of the children, is kidnapped and taken to Abullah's castle as a trap for Epsilon. Despite knowing the mission is extremely dangerous, Hogan forcefully insists on accompanying Epsilon as he dives into the trap to rescue the boy. Hogan ultimately succeeds in saving Wassily, becoming a direct witness to the final confrontation between Epsilon and Pluto. After Epsilon falls in battle, Hogan praises the fallen robot for his brave effort.
