Description
Shuka Karino witnessed her parents' murder by a Darwin's Game player named Fuli in childhood. Discovering the game app on her father's hidden phone, she waited five years before participating. Tricked into joining by a girl named Miho, whom she killed, Shuka then hunted strong players, including an elderly man with blade-like fingers, planning suicide afterward.

Initially embracing social Darwinism, she believed only the strong deserved survival and distrusted emotionally reserved individuals like Rein. Her worldview shifted after losing to rookie Kaname Sudō, defeated through adaptability rather than brute strength. This sparked her realization that true strength meant survival at any cost and accepting diverse combat styles. She developed intense loyalty and romantic feelings for Kaname, obeying his directives without question. To reject other men's touch, she severed the hand of a student who flirted with her. Her devotion led to reckless actions, including staking her clan in a wager against Themis.

Shuka possessed the sigil "Queen of Thorn," granting telekinetic control over wire-like objects. She wielded customized iron chains for combat and mobility, swinging between structures or restraining opponents. Her equipment included retractable wire anchors and piano wires for lock-picking. She supplemented her sigil with physical prowess, engaging in direct confrontations with top-ranked players like Liu Xuelan and resisting Xuelan's psychological "Killing Intent" technique due to her fearlessness of death. Her combat record earned the moniker "Undefeated Queen" with 49 consecutive wins.

Her relationship with Kaname began as interest in his potential but evolved into deep affection after he spared her life. She later collaborated with Rein, seeking advice on maintaining Kaname's romantic attention despite their earlier tensions. As a founding member of the Sunset Ravens clan alongside Kaname, she enforced benevolent rules prohibiting non-event killings and establishing safe zones, contributing to the clan's dominance in Shibuya.

Physically, Shuka had crimson eyes, light skin, and extremely long blonde hair typically tied into braids with red ribbons. She favored a dark red dress with long brown stockings and light brown shoes, wearing black during Trinity's event. Her eyes darkened to black when serious.
