Description
Qu-0213 Ei-baba is one of the four personalities that share the body of the robot Qu-0213 in the anime Bullet/Bullet. The series is set in a near-future wasteland, where the robot runs a small stolen-goods recovery business together with the boy Gear and the gambler White Bear. The robot itself has a short red-and-black frame, large arms, and an oblong head, and its simple screen-like face changes the color of its eyes and mouth depending on which personality is active. Yellow indicates Ei-baba, who is also known as Granny Ay.
Ei-baba is the gentlest of the four identities, described as a kind-hearted grandmother and a warm, motherly presence. Within the group she is responsible for cooking, and her most notable ability is the incredible speed with which she prepares delicious meals for the team. She functions as the domestic anchor of the group, providing food and care in a harsh environment and balancing the more energetic personalities that share her body: Nosa, who treats Gear like a younger brother; Kau, Nosa's rebellious twin; and Naka, the relaxed and carefree one.
As part of Qu-0213, Ei-baba is involved in the trio's work of retrieving stolen items and in the escalating events that begin when the mysterious girl Noah asks them to steal a valuable object. Her motivation centers on the wellbeing of those around her, and her role in the story is to keep the makeshift family fed, stable, and cared for.
