Description
Ichiro Hiiragi, known in Darwin's Game as "The Florist," fought primarily to secure funds for treating his daughter Suzune's severe heart condition—a hereditary ailment he also shared, drastically curtailing his lifespan.
He possessed neatly combed black hair and facial hair. While active in the game, Ichiro concealed his identity, often operating anonymously. Outside the game, his attire was practical: a white shirt, dark pants, and an apron.
Initially appearing cold and strategic, Ichiro revealed a deeply caring and dutiful nature, especially towards his family. He demonstrated strong analytical thinking and excelled at setting environmental traps. Though ruthlessly efficient in combat, his underlying kindness and sense of responsibility emerged as he formed alliances, consistently prioritizing others' protection, even at personal risk.
His Sigil, "Meg Mel," granted comprehensive plant manipulation. This included generating vegetation barriers, armor, and weapons; controlling minds by injecting plant narcotics (though control broke if orders contradicted the victim's will); and deploying environmental traps like explosive-concealing foliage or entangling vines. In battle, he encased himself in dense plant armor resistant to bullets and grenades. Tactically, he manipulated structures, collapsing a multi-story building against enemies. As his heart failed, he briefly sustained himself using plants for cardiac support.
Introduced during the Treasure Hunt event, Ichiro initially antagonized Kaname Sudō and allies by controlling players like Ryūji Maesaka. After being outmaneuvered by Kaname and Rein Kashiwagi, he allied with them against the Eighth Clan. He fortified a hotel into a stronghold using his Sigil. Confronting Eighth Clan members Keiichi Katsura and Sig during their assault, Ichiro suffered severe injuries. In a final sacrificial act, he collapsed the hotel with his plants, killing multiple Eighth members and wounding Sig, enabling Kaname’s group's escape. He succumbed to his injuries during this event.
His death impacted allies, strengthening their resolve against Darwin's Game. Due to game secrecy rules, Suzune remained unaware of his sacrifice. She was later tricked into becoming a player and joined the Sunset Ravens clan.
