Description
Jin-Sim Canbelon is a character from The Bounty Hunters, a short film within Star Wars: Visions Volume 3. He serves as the primary antagonist of the episode. Canbelon holds the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Zonus Corporation, a powerful industrial entity operating on the planet Genya.

Behind his corporate title, Canbelon is a ruthless and deeply dishonest businessman. His operation is built on a foundation of exploitation, as he enslaves countless individuals to work for his company. To maintain control and security, he forces his workers to wear restrictive collars, which serve to monitor their location, restrict their access, and ultimately function as a tool of coercion and punishment. When a group of these enslaved workers manages to escape, Canbelon does not hesitate to use extreme measures to retrieve them. He lies to the bounty hunter Sevn and her droid partner IV-A4, claiming the fugitives are saboteurs who attacked his mines, when in truth they are merely desperate individuals seeking to free their still-enslaved family members.

Canbelon's motivations are driven entirely by greed, control, and a desire to maintain his profitable but illicit enterprise. He views the people under his dominion as property and assets rather than sentient beings. His role in the story is that of a corrupt authority figure who exploits the systems of power and wealth for personal gain. He hires Sevn and IV-A4 to capture the escaped workers, hoping to use their skills to quietly crush the nascent rebellion and return his property to servitude.

His key relationship in the narrative is with Sevn, whom he initially attempts to manipulate with offers of generous payment, a permanent job, and repairs to her ship. However, he underestimates her past and her principles. When Sevn discovers the truth about his operation and demands he free his slaves, Canbelon refuses, revealing his true nature and forcing a direct confrontation. He shows no loyalty to his employees or hired help, only viewing them as tools to be used and discarded.

When confronted, Canbelon demonstrates that he is not merely a passive corporate leader but a formidable combatant. He commands a pair of large battle droids for personal defense. When those are destroyed, he personally engages Sevn while piloting a massive, heavily modified golden droideka, a type of destroyer droid typically known for its rolling mobility and powerful personal shields. This custom suit makes him a nearly invincible opponent for a time. Most cruelly, his ultimate failsafe is a remote control device that can detonate the explosive charges within the slave collars, demonstrating his willingness to commit mass murder to maintain his power and avoid capture. He is ultimately defeated by Sevn and IV-A4, who work together to disable his droideka suit and subdue him, leading to the liberation of all his enslaved workers.
