Description
Kazura is a character from the 1966 Japanese live-action film Watari Ninja Boy, which is based on the manga Watari by Sanpei Shirato. He is a young ninja living in the Iga province of 16th century Japan, a region divided by a bitter feud between the rival Momochi and Fujibayashi clans. Within this setting, low-ranking ninjas known as genin are treated harshly under a mysterious and oppressive "ninja law".

Kazura is specifically a genin who is put in charge of running a training camp for other genin, a role that puts him at the center of the clan's system for producing expendable soldiers. His primary personal connection is to his sister, Tsuyuki, for whom he cares deeply. He becomes friends with the protagonist, Watari, a wandering young ninja of exceptional skill. Watari, observing the harsh conditions of the genin, requests that Kazura stop running the training camp, believing the endless supply of trainees is the reason they are treated as disposable. This request highlights Kazura's position within the flawed system.

Kazura's main motivation in the story is revenge. His sister Tsuyuki and her lover, Shindo no Kojiro, are given a deadly mission by clan leader Momochi: to infiltrate the fortress of Samidare and assassinate its lord, a mission promised to grant them freedom and permission to marry. This is revealed to be a trap, and both Tsuyuki and Kojiro are killed by a group of six powerful, color-coded ninja warriors. Driven by grief and a desire for vengeance, Kazura sets out for the fortress after his sister. He is captured there, and Watari follows to rescue him. Watari succeeds in saving Kazura and, with the help of his grandfather, defeats the six ninjas.

Kazura's personal development culminates in a tragic act of self-sacrifice. Not satisfied with the defeat of his sister's killers, he takes his revenge directly to the source of the conflict. He sneaks into the fortress of the rival Fujibayashi clan and detonates an explosion, destroying the fortress and killing himself in the process. While the search results do not detail any specific supernatural or martial arts techniques unique to Kazura, his final action demonstrates a resolve born from loss and a willingness to destroy the corrupt system that took his sister, even at the cost of his own life. His role is that of a tragic figure whose friendship with Watari and personal loss drive a significant portion of the plot, ultimately revealing the depth of the conspiracy behind the clan war.
