Jin-Woo Sung begins his journey as an E-rank hunter, a status infamously known as the weakest rank among those who fight within magical gates. He is often called the weakest hunter of all mankind, a title that reflects his lack of power and the constant danger he faces in even the most basic dungeons. His background is rooted in hardship and duty; his mother, Park Kyung-Hye, fell into a mysterious coma known as Eternal Slumber, and his father, Sung Il-Hwan, had gone missing years prior after being trapped in a dungeon. To pay for his mother’s hospital bills and support his younger sister, Jin-Ah, Jin-Woo risked his life daily as a hunter, a profession for which he had little natural talent.
Jin-Woo’s personality is defined by a deep sense of responsibility and a protective nature toward his loved ones, which forms the core of his motivations. Initially timid and insecure due to years of being belittled by other hunters, he possesses a strong will to survive and a selfless willingness to put himself in harm's way for others.
