Description
Führer Geisel is the primary antagonist of the second season, Inazuman Flash. He is the leader of the Despar Army, a faction that usurps control from Emperor Banba and the original Neo-Human Empire Phantom Army. This coup occurs because Geisel and his followers hold a more extreme ideology than their predecessors. While Emperor Banba sought to create a world order ruled by Neo-Humans and mutants, Geisel despises mutants and advocates for their total extermination, alongside the subjugation of the remaining human population as slaves.
Geisel is characterized by his ruthless, authoritarian, and uncompromising nature. His personality is defined by a complete lack of mercy and a willingness to commit mass atrocities to achieve his goals. In stark contrast to Banba, who was willing to incorporate mutants into his empire, Geisel’s motivation is the creation of a world devoid of them, viewing them as an impurity to be cleansed. He is a tyrant who rules through fear and rigid control.
In the story of Inazuman Flash, Geisel commands the Despar Army as they launch a new offensive against both humanity and any remaining mutants loyal to the old regime. He establishes Despar City, a stronghold populated by kidnapped humans who are forced to live under oppressive laws that include a ban on reading books, with punishments for violations being mind control or execution. His schemes are notably brutal; in one early plot, his forces kidnap human athletes to hunt them for sport. Geisel serves as the final adversary Goro Watari, the hero Inazuman, must face after dealing with Emperor Banba.
Key relationships are defined by Geisel’s absolute authority and fanaticism. He commands the Despar Army, composed of soldiers and Robot Fighters who carry out his genocidal orders. His most significant and telling relationship is with his own daughter. In a final, desperate act to stop his apocalyptic plan to sink the Japanese archipelago by overloading Despar City's artificial sun, Geisel’s daughter attempts to intervene. Demonstrating the depths of his villainy, Geisel kills her himself to ensure his scheme proceeds unimpeded. This act solidifies his role as a Complete Monster, a villain with no redeeming qualities.
Geisel’s development throughout the series follows the typical arc of a major antagonist, escalating his plans from regional terror to national catastrophe. He starts as the leader of a splinter faction and rises to become the dominant threat after the fall of Emperor Banba. His narrative ends with his final confrontation with Inazuman in the last episode, titled Farewell Inazuman Geisel's Last Day. Regarding notable abilities, Geisel is primarily a strategic and commanding villain who rules from his fortress, known as Geisel's Great Fort, rather than a direct physical combatant like the monster-of-the-week. His power lies in his authority over the Despar Army, his technological resources, and his unshakable, maniacal will to commit genocide.
