Description
Chainsaw Lizard is a female cyborg and a member of the secret terrorist organization Shocker, appearing as an antagonist in the 2007 film Kamen Rider: The Next. Before her transformation, she served as the capable and neatly presented secretary to Shiro Kazami, the president of the IT company ExaStream. Her life changed when Shocker selected the company's office as a test site for their nanobot experiments. Unbeknownst to the staff, nanobots were dispersed throughout the environment, beginning to alter their bodies from the inside. While many employees perished as their bodies rejected the modification, Chainsaw Lizard was one of only two survivors, the other being Shiro Kazami himself. Following this event, she was recruited into Shocker and transformed into a cyborg warrior.
As a human, she was a bright and sociable woman who interacted warmly with Shiro and his sister, Chiharu. After her conversion, her personality underwent a complete and drastic change. She became ruthless, cruel, and overtly aggressive, contrasting sharply with her former professional demeanor. Her appearance and behavior also transformed, taking on a more bewitching and sensual quality. In battle, she displays a sadistic enjoyment of combat, even using English phrases to express her pleasure, such as commenting that fighting fills her with ecstasy.
Within Shocker's hierarchy, Chainsaw Lizard serves as the second-in-command to Scissors Jaguar, the leader of the nanobot operation. She is frequently seen commanding the six Shocker Riders, the organization's mass-produced cyborg soldiers, in their missions. Her primary objective is to eliminate the traitorous former Shocker members, Takeshi Hongo, also known as Kamen Rider 1, and Hayato Ichimonji, Kamen Rider 2. She directly confronts them on multiple occasions, first attacking them at Shiro Kazami's vacation home and later participating in the final battle to prevent the Riders from stopping Shocker's plan to spread nanobots across Japan.
The relationship between Chainsaw Lizard and Shiro Kazami is particularly significant, as he was her former employer and the other survivor of the experiment. This shared past creates a dramatic irony when Kazami, having turned against Shocker, transforms into Kamen Rider V3. She has no hesitation in fighting him, and he ultimately becomes her destroyer. During the climactic battle, with the plan to distribute the nanobots failing, she attempts to escape with the container of nanobots. V3 pursues her to the underground area of the Shocker base, where she is destroyed by his V3 Reverse Kick, exploding in a burst of flames that also incinerates the nanobots.
Chainsaw Lizard's primary weapon is a large, powerful chainsaw attached to her right arm. She has the ability to summon this weapon at will and dismiss it when not in use. Furthermore, if the chainsaw arm is damaged or severed, she can regenerate it completely. She is highly agile and a skilled hand-to-hand combatant, using her agility to dodge attacks and her chainsaw to cut through virtually anything. She stands 172 centimeters tall and is physically well-suited for combat. Her design is a modern reinterpretation of Nokoguilli Tokage, a lizard monster that appeared in the original 1970s Kamen Rider V3 television series.
