Before the formation of the team, he was a 24-year-old operative of the Kantou branch of the EAGLE Japan Block, where his older brother served as the base captain. He was undergoing special training in combat planning and strategy, showing early signs of the natural leadership and tactical mind that would define his role. In addition to his combat training, he was known as the Ace Striker for the EAGLE Japan soccer team and was a master of disguise and an expert sharpshooter.

Kaijo’s personality is forged by tragedy and a strong moral compass. He is a natural-born leader and tactician, capable of making quick decisions and coordinating complex operations. While still young, he can be brash at times, but he consistently demonstrates a maturity well beyond his years. His primary motivation stems from a deep personal loss: his older brother was killed during the Black Cross Army’s surprise assault on their EAGLE base. This event instilled in him a powerful loathing for evil and a personal vendetta against the Black Cross Army, driving him to ensure that no one else would suffer a similar fate.

In his role within the Gorenger team, Kaijo serves as the central figure and primary strategist. He is often the one to coordinate the team’s combination attacks, such as the Gorenger Storm and the Gorenger Hurricane, which rely on the synchronized efforts of all five members to defeat powerful enemies. His leadership style is one of trust and direct action, and he is frequently depicted fighting on the front lines alongside his comrades. A notable aspect of his character is his willingness to put himself in danger, often allowing himself to be captured as a calculated strategy to infiltrate enemy bases and gather intelligence from within.

As Akarenger, Kaijo is equipped with a variety of notable abilities and specialized weaponry. His arsenal includes the Silver Shot, a blaster or tranquilizer gun, and his primary weapon, the Red Vute. The Red Vute is a multi-purpose whip, the end of which can transform into several different implements, including a drill, a claw known as the Red Hunter, or it can stiffen into a rigid fighting pole. For mobility, he rides a supercharged motorcycle called the Red Machine, which he later replaces with the Red Star super cycle. In addition to his weapons, his suit grants him superhuman abilities, and his athletic prowess, particularly his soccer-honed kicking skills, is frequently incorporated into his fighting style and team-based finishing moves.
