Description
Mansaku Nijimura is a tertiary character in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable. He is the father of Keicho and Okuyasu Nijimura. Before the events of the story, he was an abusive husband and father who entered the service of the vampire DIO in exchange for financial gain. DIO implanted a flesh bud in his brain to ensure his loyalty. When DIO was defeated and died, the flesh bud went berserk, triggering a grotesque transformation. Mansaku Nijimura mutated into a monstrous, immortal creature with rapid regenerative abilities. He lost his human form and most of his mental faculties, becoming a misshapen being confined to his home, covered in lumps and oozing fluid.

His past as an abusive figure colors his relationship with his sons, though he is no longer capable of conscious behavior. Keicho and Okuyasu are forced to care for him in his monstrous state. Keicho, the elder brother, becomes obsessed with finding a Stand user strong enough to kill their father and end his suffering. He acquires the Bow and Arrow and creates numerous Stand users in Morioh, hoping one of them will have the necessary power. Okuyasu, the younger brother, is more reluctant to kill their father and wishes instead to find a cure, though no such cure exists.

Mansaku Nijimura himself does not have a defined personality due to his degenerated state. His motivation is absent; he exists only as a suffering, mindless creature driven by base impulses. He occasionally lashes out at those near him, including his sons. His immortally regenerative body means he cannot be killed by conventional means, which is why Keicho seeks a Stand ability that can destroy him permanently.

His role in the story is primarily as a catalyst for the actions of his sons. The Nijimura brothers' conflict over how to handle their father drives the early arc of Diamond Is Unbreakable. Keicho's desperate quest leads him to turn many townspeople into Stand users and brings him into conflict with Josuke Higashikata and Koichi Hirose. After Keicho is killed by the Stand Red Hot Chili Pepper, Okuyasu abandons the quest and allies with Josuke, leaving Mansaku Nijimura in his ongoing miserable state. He does not undergo any development or change during the narrative; he remains the same monstrous figure from his introduction onward.

In terms of notable abilities, Mansaku Nijimura possesses a Stand, though its name and specific powers are not detailed. The main ability derived from his condition is an extraordinary regenerative factor that makes him essentially immortal, unable to die from physical damage or age. This regeneration is a direct consequence of the corrupted flesh bud, not a natural Stand power. Beyond this, he has no combat capacity or conscious control over any abilities. He is a tragic figure, a once-brutal man reduced to a pitiful existence that defines the motivations of his sons.
