Alicia Edelcia is a beginner adventurer unexpectedly hailed as the "Shining Crusader," a title initially beyond her experience. She possesses shoulder-length sand-brown hair, violet eyes, and a youthful, "soft and fluffy" appearance frequently mistaken for someone much younger. Her typical attire is a white holy mage outfit over a pink dress shirt.
Her origins are shrouded in mystery, lacking memories before roughly age nine. Her first recollection involves village guards rescuing her from goblins; she was found clutching a torn birthday drawing made by her younger sister. Believing her biological family perished in the goblin attack, she was adopted by Edge Priest Edelcia, who named her Alicia. Her chosen August birthday is speculative. She treasures a single surviving letter from her family and infers her original name likely began with "A" to match her adoptive family's naming pattern.
Alicia exhibits a positive, naïve, and innocent personality. She is calm, warm, caring, honest, yet clumsy and reliant on her companions in difficult situations. Despite her age, her mannerisms project a childlike impression.
Her journey starts as a rookie adventurer forming a party with childhood friends Edgar Crosstruger and Raiga Straiga. She first encounters the uncle during Lubandrum's Winter Festival. Later, tasked with defending an eastern borderlands village from a goblin horde, her party proves inadequate. The uncle intervenes, defeating the horde single-handedly, but political maneuvering credits Alicia's party publicly. This results in the church bestowing the "Shining Crusader" title upon her, which she feels unworthy to bear.
Repeated encounters deepen her respect and attraction towards the uncle, especially witnessing his humility and strength. Their relationship evolves during a shared quest to retrieve the Wand of Salvation – an artifact promised to her by Edgar and Raiga in childhood. On this quest, the uncle reveals an anticlimactic shortcut but erases Alicia's memory afterward to recreate a more meaningful dungeon journey. She later discovers he erased her memories on three separate occasions, leading her to demand a promise he would never alter her memories again.
A notable incident occurs when the uncle accidentally sees her naked at a hot spring and erases his own memory out of respect. Alicia insists on knowing the truth, resulting in a tense confrontation that ultimately builds trust. She also learns she is chronologically older than the uncle, contrary to appearances.
Her abilities focus on divine and healing magic. Early on, she specializes in recovery charms and light-based spells. Obtaining the Wand of Salvation grants her power to generate barriers for trapping enemies or protecting allies. She later develops a unique "heart-sharing" ability, curing mental afflictions in allies and temporarily wielding their skills. This growth helps her gradually live up to her heroic title.
Relationships define her journey. Edgar and Raiga remain steadfast companions, though both explicitly reject romantic interest. She views the uncle as a love interest, while Elf and Mabel serve as friends and romantic rivals. Misunderstandings frequently complicate her interactions, often stemming from the uncle's actions to remain unnoticed.
She is the same age as the uncle or slightly older. Her friends persistently view her as "too much trouble" to date despite their care. Her narrative is marked by accidental heroism, memory-related conflicts, and gradual self-acceptance as a capable adventurer.
