Description
Cheetor is a Maximal warrior who appears in the 2023 film Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. As a member of this heroic faction of Transformers who take on animal forms, Cheetor transforms into a mechanical cheetah roughly the size of a small truck, a form he carries with exceptional athleticism and grace. His sleek, powerful beast mode is designed for speed, while his robot mode is lean and equipped with a two-part spear that can be used as a single weapon or split into two for dual-wielding.

In terms of personality, Cheetor possesses the confidence of a warrior who knows that danger can rarely catch him. His incredible speed is both his greatest strength and his most significant weakness; his agility breeds overconfidence, and he can sometimes be too quick to act without fully considering the repercussions of his actions. Despite this impulsive streak, he remains a reliable and invaluable member of the Maximal team in their ongoing war against the Terrorcons.

Cheetor's background is rooted in the tragic fall of his homeworld. He was among the Maximals left on their planet when the planet-eating entity Unicron attacked. After witnessing their leader Apelinq fall in battle against the Terrorcon leader Scourge, Cheetor escaped with his fellow Maximals Optimus Primal, Rhinox, and Airazor through a transwarp bridge, which transported them to prehistoric Earth. By the year 1994, the group had settled in the jungles of Peru, where they continued their mission to protect the Transwarp Key, a powerful artifact needed to open portals across space and time.

Within the story, Cheetor plays a supportive but crucial role. When the Autobots arrive on Earth searching for the Key, Cheetor is among the Maximals who confront them, and he briefly tackles the Autobot Mirage before the situation is peacefully resolved. Later, after the Terrorcorrupts and kills Airazor, Cheetor is visibly distraught at the loss of his comrade. During the final battle, Optimus Primal orders Cheetor and Rhinox to maximize, and Cheetor uses his agility to make swift work of Terrorcon drone soldiers. At one point, he is overwhelmed but manages to throw his spear to rescue the human Noah Díaz from the Terrorcon Nightbird. Cheetor continues to fight alongside the Autobots and his fellow Maximals, helping to hold back the enemy army until the Transwarp Key is finally destroyed.

Cheetor shares a strong working relationship with his leader, Optimus Primal, and his fellow warriors Airazor and Rhinox. His key relationships are primarily with his own Maximal faction, as he follows Primals orders and fights to protect his team and their mission. While his role is not as central as that of Optimus Prime or Optimus Primal, Cheetors actions are consistently helpful, and he proves himself a capable fighter. He does not undergo a significant personal transformation or development arc within this single film, remaining a steadfast and dependable soldier from beginning to end.

Cheetor's most notable ability is his phenomenal speed, which allows him to run faster than most of his enemies can even process. In his cheetah mode, he can sprint across the battlefield with supersonic quickness, using his powerful claws to strike before opponents can react. In combat, he wields a spear that can separate into two distinct weapons, and he uses his speed and agility to overwhelm foes in close-quarters fighting. His robot mode is also highly articulated and designed for maximum mobility, allowing him to perform complex combat poses and movements with ease.
