His entire perspective is fundamentally altered during a training exercise in a wooded area, when the Autobot scout B-127 crash-lands in his midst. This event is immediately followed by a devastating attack from the Decepticon Blitzwing, an encounter that leaves many of his team injured and Burns himself deeply scarred, both physically and psychologically.
