Description
Lucy Stevens is a junior reporter for the CNM news network who plays a significant role in the story set in Ryme City. She is a young woman with blonde hair typically styled in a ponytail, green eyes, and a determined demeanor. Her constant companion is a Psyduck, a Pokémon known for its chronic headaches, which Lucy often tries to keep calm.

As a journalist, Lucy is ambitious and deeply investigative but lacks experience. She works as a fluff columnist, stuck writing trivial blog posts, and is eager for an opportunity to prove herself as a serious reporter. Her eagerness occasionally leads her to chase headlines based on rumors rather than credible sources, and her attempts to appear more professional than she is can seem forced. Despite this, she is genuinely caring and shows concern for others, such as Detective Pikachu when he is injured.

Lucy’s primary motivation is to climb the ranks at CNM and earn recognition for her investigative skills. She becomes suspicious of the official story surrounding the death of detective Harry Goodman, believing there is a larger conspiracy at play. This curiosity drives her to investigate on her own, initially approaching Harry’s estranged son, Tim Goodman, for information. While Tim is initially resistant, she later provides crucial assistance to him and Detective Pikachu by sharing Harry’s last known leads and helping them infiltrate a research facility.

Her key relationships include her bond with her Psyduck, whom she relies on for protection in dangerous situations. She also develops a partnership with Tim Goodman, who shows a romantic interest in her, and she joins his quest to uncover the truth about his father. The main antagonist of the story is Howard Clifford, the owner of the CNM network, who is ultimately revealed to be the mastermind behind the incidents Lucy is investigating.

Throughout the story, Lucy shows development from an overlooked blogger into a courageous investigative figure. She impersonates a reporter to warn the mayor about the dangerous R substance and, later, becomes a victim of Howard Clifford’s scheme, fusing with her Psyduck. After the villain is defeated and the effects reversed, Lucy’s theories are proven correct. As a result, the network’s new leader, Roger Clifford, hires her as a genuine reporter, with her first assignment being to cover the full extent of the conspiracy. In terms of abilities, aside from her journalistic instincts and persistence, Lucy is operationally supported by her Psyduck, whose headache-induced psychic shockwaves can be a powerful defensive tool against threats like attacking Greninja.
