OVA
Description
Namie Yagiri, former chief of Yagiri Pharmaceuticals and later secretary to Izaya Orihara, is driven by an incestuous obsession with her younger brother, Seiji Yagiri. Frequently sent to her uncle Seitarou Yagiri's home during childhood, she encountered Celty Sturluson's severed head there. Initially mistaking it for a doll, touching its warm surface revealed it was alive. Around Seiji's birth, her parents lost their jobs due to a professional mistake and neglected both children. Namie assumed responsibility for Seiji's care, developing an intense attachment due to the lack of familial affection. Their uncle eventually took them in as future assets. Namie later showed Seiji the head, unintentionally triggering his obsessive love for it. Excelling in scientific and medical studies, she was appointed head of a research team by her uncle and gained custody of the head, both to study it and keep it from Seiji.
When the head was stolen, Namie deduced Seiji was responsible. He contacted her, confessing he might have killed his stalker, Mika Harima. Namie retrieved the head and orchestrated the removal of Mika's body. After Mika regained consciousness, Namie offered her plastic surgery to resemble the head as a substitute for Seiji. The plan involved administering memory-erasing and personality-altering drugs, but Mika escaped before this occurred. Namie's men tracked Mika to Mikado Ryuugamine's apartment, but she fled after a warning from Izaya Orihara. Mikado lured Namie to Sunshine 60 Street, urging her to surrender for human trafficking and experimentation. She dismissed his demands and ordered his capture. Mikado alerted Dollars members, causing disruptive synchronized ringtones. During the chaos, Celty arrived; Namie's men attacked her, revealing her identity as a Dullahan. Namie retreated and sought Izaya's protection, handing over the head in exchange for his help and agreeing to become his secretary. Izaya disclosed his plans for the head, which Namie ridiculed.
As Izaya's secretary, Namie maintained a cold and demanding demeanor, primarily interacting with him through sarcastic or spiteful comments. During the Yellow Scarves arc, Shingen Kishitani held her at gunpoint (using a toy). She secretly informed Horada of Mikado's role as the Dollars' founder, escalating gang conflicts. In the Hollywood arc, she invited Izaya's sisters, Mairu and Kururi, into an online chat room without his knowledge. When others planned a hotpot party excluding Izaya, he proposed hosting their own. Namie initially refused, accusing him of using her to compensate for his lack of friends, but relented and cooked, briefly considering poisoning the food before deciding against it.
Namie assisted Izaya in manipulating Akane Awakusu by impersonating "Nakura" during their meeting and introducing an imposter as Izaya. Over days, she gained Akane's trust through outings to manga cafes and family restaurants, even letting Akane stay at her residence. This manipulation culminated in Akane being tricked into attacking Shizuo Heiwajima. Following Izaya's stabbing, Namie continued her duties, such as cooking dinner while noting his late arrival. Upon learning of his injury through news, she viewed it as an opportunity for time off. She hired Mairu and Kururi to spy on Seiji and Mika, growing increasingly enraged as their relationship deepened. Determined to reverse Mika's plastic surgery, Namie contacted Shinra Kishitani, who refused. She lured Mika to a warehouse formerly owned by her company. The encounter turned violent; Namie paralyzed Mika with a drug, pinned her down, and kissed her, calling it an indirect kiss with Seiji. As Namie attempted to scar Mika's face with acidic chemicals, Mika revealed she had gathered intelligence on individuals in Seiji's life, including Mikado, Anri Sonohara, and Izaya. Though impressed, Namie proceeded until Seiji intervened. He kissed her to demonstrate the violation of non-consent, blocking their lips with his finger. Flustered and elated by their first kiss, Namie fled.
Later, she attended a hotpot party hosted by Izaya and was seen cooking dinner for him again, unaware he planned to place a potato sack over her head. During the Kadota's Coma arc, she encountered her uncle and Jinnai Yodogiri's secretary, Kasane Kujiragi. After a brief struggle where Kasane gained the upper hand, Shingen Kishitani, Eijirou Yodogiri, and Egor intervened, saving Namie. She was taken to Celty Sturluson's apartment. In the Final Curtain arc, she joined a group formed by Walker and Shingen at Celty's residence. Later, as mentioned in Durarara!! SH, she traveled to America.
