Description
Sir Lancillotto, also known as Lancelot, appears in the 2017 film Transformers: The Last Knight as a human knight of the Round Table and a secondary figure in the Arthurian prologue. He is presented as the greatest of King Arthur’s knights, distinguished by his bravery and martial skill. In the year 484 AD, Lancillotto takes part in a desperate battle against Saxon invaders, fighting alongside King Arthur and the other knights of Camelot. The battle initially goes poorly for the Britons, and Lancillotto is depicted as skeptical when King Arthur asserts that help is on the way—help that eventually arrives in the form of a giant three‑headed dragon provided by the wizard Merlin, who has secretly allied with the Cybertronian Knights of Iacon. Lancillotto’s role in the story is confined to this opening sequence; he does not appear in the modern‑day narrative. His motivation is loyalty to his king and the defense of his land, and his abilities are those of a highly capable medieval warrior. He has no character arc or further development within the film. Lancillotto is portrayed by actor Martin McCreadie.
